Josh Gross at Sherdog.com is reporting that Rich Franlin will fight Martin Kampmann this June when they UFC holds their first show in Ireland.
Franklin lost his Middleweight title to Anderson Silva last October and returned to action with a somewhat easy victory over Jason MacDonald at UFC 68 last month. Kampmann also fought on the same UFC 68 card where he defeated Drew McFedries by arm-triangle in the first round after taking some serious punishment from McFedries’ striking power.
Kampmann is 3-0 in the UFC with two submission victories and one win by decision.

I’ve been on vacation for a while so I haven’t seen the T-shirt contest till now. I do graphic design for a living so I should be able to throw something together.
I think Rich will take this one pretty easily also. Good to see that they are making him take a couple of fights before his rematch though.

I’ve set the bar pretty high, so hit me with your best shot.
I actually don’t think this is a “gimme” for Ace. Kampmann is no pushover. I think his ground skills are superior to Franklin, he is hungry to make a name for himself, and he certainly has a chin that was able to take a pounding from McFedries, who is one of the strongest punchers out there. I think this is a very interesting matchup. Martin will throw many different things at Franklin. I made the mistake of ignoring this guy his last fight when I saw the weigh-ins…and McFedries looked like an anabolic monster. I thought he would surely KO Kampmann in no time. I learned not to underestimate him. Regardless of what happens in this fight, he will be a top fighter in the future.
And speaking of the T-Shirt contest…whats the discussion about winners and losers? why can’t all the designs be put into productions and sold on the website. I personally like mine because it is a simple design. There are so many MMA related sponsors and websites that sell merchandise out there…in my opinion less is more. One of the reasons I like this site so much is it’s simplicity. I have seen so much merchandise and logos and tag lines on all sorts of products that in the end, I don’t even know what is being advertised.
Dennis, you’ve already won the “most posts” award…can’t you be content with that?

I don’t have any problem getting more than one shirt design made up, the only thing is that I have to pay to have them all put through the printer. I don’t mind doing it if I can get guaranteed orders, but I don’t want to print up a bunch of different t-shirt designs and then be left over with boxes full of inventory.

Once again, Dennis, we are lost in the translation. I was not “slashing out” at anything. I just thought it was funny how you proclaimed yourself the winner so quickly. Is there a winning prize? does it really matter? it’s such a great contest to beginn with, in my opinion, there are no losers or winners.

Kampmann is a good fighter with a good chin and good bjj….but this is rich franklin…i do not think that kampmann has what it takes to beat rich, i really dont, and after his last fight, and the wayy he finished off J mac, his confidence is probably through the roof, and i dont see kampmann stopping rich from getting back to the the #1 contenders position..
It will definitely be an interesting fight. Kampmann is another one of these lanky Danish kickboxers with excellent striking and a good clinch, which Silva showed Franklinhas trouble with. I like Kampmann’s chances.

Not throwing in the towel buddy, just haven’t had much time to post this week, much less make a “T-Shirt Design”. At any rate, yours is pretty good, why don’t we all vote on who’s is best at the end of the contest and then all agree to purchase the winner?
I also just realized I don’t have the necessary software to open the templates and make a t-shirt design, so I might not get to make one after all ,, oh well…
