Ahh, I’ve been trying to stay out of this Wandy/Chuck discussion for a long time.
I think Chuck Liddell takes that match up 75% of the time. Wand is a “wild” striker and throws those big looping punches that I think would be easy for Chuck to duck and counter-punch against.

You guys watch too much UFC …. Wand is statistically the most dominant LHW ever in MMA … argue with me on that .. 6YEARS AT THE TOP .. the only person who could beat him was in the Heavy Weight Division .. and Wand fought like an animal and never gave up .. look how much of a beating he took .. I am sorry but if thats what it takes to beat Wand.. putting up against a Heavyweight. . Dana protects Chuck, that is the secret to his success .. who has he fought? Well, everyone has a bad night, not making excuses but if you has STREP then you probably wouldn’t fight too well either, the other thing is that Wand has been put through the ringer .. Henderson is a real fighter, not some punching bag like the people Chuck fights.. BABALU SOBRAL.. Wand NEVER gets the easy fights that Chuck gets .. why is this Quinton fight such a big deal.. because Chuck hasn’t fought anyone real in a long time .. Because I have been watching Wand beat the loving crap out of all comers.. and not ducking anyone for the past 5-6 years .. while I have been watching people gain and vacate the UFC title and gain and lose it over the last 5-6 years… let’s see .. we have had multiple champs like Chuck, Randy, Vitor Belfort, Tito Ortiz .. hmm no dominant Champion there .. during all that CHAOS .. But in your eyes chuck has not fought anyone but in all actuallity he has dismantled everyone that dana/ufc has put in front of him that he had to fight. So i look at it in two ways, 1 either he is just THAT high over his competition that the ufc has or he like you said fought some bums, well in that case dana should learn his lesson and not put any more bums in front of him, and get him some more competition, which hopefully that is why the two brothers purchased pride zuffa or whatever

The fight between GSP and Koscheck was pretty much finalized the weak after UFC 69. It, of course, hasn’t been “officially” announced yet by the UFC but GSP’s manager and Dana White have both alluded to the fight happening in August.
I read that too .. UFCDAILY.COM I think .. GSP would kill Koscheck in my opinion..

Please post any new info you find on Wand … I am like freaking out, it has been going on 2 months now and no word from his camp on when he will be back in action, I mean GSP knows where he is going after his loss.. so does Rich Franklin, I am sure we will know where Cro Cop stands in the next 3 weeks pending his ankle eval .. I would surely like to know what the next step Wand is taking and how he is going to adjust to being under Dana White and the Fertittas whom he has shown hostility towards in the past..

I’ll check around and send a few emails to some contacts and see if I can’t dig up anything about Wandy. I think alot of the lack of info is due to the PrideFC-Zuffa merger and we really aren’t hearing info about any of the Pride fighters right now.
I’ll see what I can find out and post as soon as I find anything.

I hope that Chuck wins, but barely wins .. that would be awesome to see him get rocked a few times and come back .. you know a real fight .. rather than a quick knockout .. if Chuck lost .. that would solidify 2007 as the year of upsets .. Yes I did.. I watched it 2 or 3 times. I have also read a couple of local articles out of Brazil .. interviews .. he has been a little down but he understands just like Cro Cop understands, it’s his career and there are up’s and downs.. what did you take from that interview?
You know you ask me that and i felt weird about it. He didnt seem all sad and disapointed like gsp did you know? It was like gsp knew for a fact that he couldave won (and from his trainers remarks)he was dissapointed in himself. Then when you saw cro cop he looked like he just wanted to flat out announce his retirement. But wandy, it was so weird, it was like……..he was ok that he lost and he was content with the fact that he had had it for 6 years you know, and he said he wanted his buddy to get the title. He basically looked to me like he was out of it or something like it was like loosing a dollar or something. But maybe that is one of the stages you go through after you loose ya know. But he didnt seem before his last two fight which ended in knockouts. I mean you know, you been watching wandy for years, and i know you recognized the difference, he looked nervous and timid. The last fight he looked thicker to me than usual. I dont know it was weird man, then he had on them damn sunglasses too!! What did you think?
maybe after winning for so long and you lose like that maybe he is going through that fighter withdrawl or something. His last fights he just didnt look like the same wandy that fought sakaraba or jackson or any of his other big name fights, he just didnt look the same, or fight the same, i never in my years of watching that man ever see him back up as much as he did in his last fights. And the funny thing is, its not like wandy takes a lot of punishment to be going through a lapse or something, i mean he knocks people out, but maybe its the people around him or personal issues he is going through or something.

I think he is sick of towing the line for a bunch of ungrateful a-holes like Pride’s previous owners and managers. I think he is sick of putting his neck on the line and then being sold out .. like they put him up to saying all those things about “Pride will conquer UFC” then they sell the organization weeks later .. TO THE UFC! .. Wand has been used, and overused.. he is tired, I think he needs to be making much more than 50k a fight.. more like 500k a fight .. and I think that once he see’s the respect and good treatment he will get from the Fertittas and Dana, he will light back up, but yeah, he looked disinterested in his last fight for sure…

It’s a lot of pressure to be the face of “Chuteboxe” and to be the mentor to a guy like “Shogun Rua” .. and to be the face of “Pride FC” for so many years, and to be the pride of Brazil alongside Royce Gracie and guys like Pedro Rizzo and Vitor Belfort.. man that is a laundry list of exhausting pressures for anyone to carry .. I bet he is just really tired.. he mentioned last October that only with God’s help would he be able to keep his schedule for the end of 2006 and all of 2007.. he didn’t look too confident that he could take it all on ..
