I really don’t know what to say about this. I’ve very dazed and confused after watching it and little by little my confidence in the IFL is waning.

  9. I hereby ban Bas from ever rapping or more importantly, DANCING again.

  10. Bigg Dubb says:

    It sucked…big time. But I am not telling them that. I just hope they don’t play it on saturday.
    Also, I know they are pushing Rory Markham all over the place but he always finds a way to look like a complete jerk off.

    HEAR THE LATEST NEWS ON WANDI?

  12. todd says:

    yea, is there any news on wandi

  13. Dr J says:

    @Todd,

    Wandi says he is taking the rest of 2007 off. I’ve been gone all weekend and haven’t been able to post any news. Sorry for the delay guys, but here is a writeup on the Wandi news that was posted in Brazil this past week.

    http://ufcjunkie.com/2007/05/19/prides-wanderlei-silva-taking-the-year-off/

  14. todd says:

    Good GOD!!! the whole 2007 , man that is a long time to not fight. I hope he hasnt lost is hunger or the desire.

  15. MMAKansas says:

    He has been through a lot of wars, more than any other fighter at 205 as far as the level of competition and wins vs losses, so its needed, he is about to go past the 30 mark and into his last years of fighting, its a good time to regroup, and take his already dominant fast paced style and add to it to make it even more effective. I think he is doing what he has wanted to for a couple years now and take a break, good move. It’s really important to rest the body, which he hasn’t and you can see that he has aged much faster than the average fighter due to the excruciating schedule he has kept. Who at 205lb has fought as tough competition as Wand? Nobody, he is the epitome of dominance as a champion with 6 years at the top, and fighting out of his weight class …. so I think he will be back, it takes a step away to look back and get hungry sometimes, and I think he will do that.

  16. todd says:

    so does anyone think that ufc will ever have like a open weight tournament or a grand prix-like tournament?

  17. MMAKansas says:

    No… they are into sanctioning and legitimizing the sport, that would be reckless like Pride or the original UFC … they are trying to move away from that not meld it back in….

  18. bvrasp says:

    yea, im sure Silva has a ton of recurring injuries and also the guy just wants to enjoy life a little bit. I cant see him coming back stronger though.. he will probably come back weaker.. but oh well, i think Silvas BEST years are behind him at this point. Not to say he isnt still at the upper eschelon of the LH division. Look at Hughes, he hasnt weakened as a fighter, even though his last performance wasnt great, he just doesnt really want it anymore.

    Like several people already said, if your not hungry, you shouldnt be there. Its true in any sport, boxing, 100 meter dash, etc.. you gotta want it bad! more than you want anything else in the world.. for example: Matt Serra.. guys can say anything they want about GSP and his training, i think it had more to do with Serra than GSP in that fight..

    KANSAS

    MAN A 185 POUNDER KNOCKIN OUT A 205 POUNDER…. DO YOU THINK THAT COULD BE DONE…?????????????????????????

    LOL IM JK

  20. MMAKansas says:

    Making excuses wont do any good, but yeah I can see a 185 lb guy knocking out a guy at 205 when the champ has strep throat and is on antibiotics .. which zap everything out of you .. again, Wand should have postponed the fight, no excuses, but c’mon you know at his best he wouldn’t have gotten knocked out…

  21. Dennis says:

    MAK, you would have loved the wandi focus that trigg did last night on fsn.

    it climaxed with the wandi|quint fight, and it was a fist that floored quint, not a knee that everyone claims….but the knee did put him through the ropes.

  22. Craig says:

    That is easily one of the worst things I have ever seen, I think I just died a little in side because of it

  23. richard says:

    HILLBILLY
    we all know that u see things a little distorted ie “LIDDEL NEVER GOT A TOWEL THROWN IN BEFORE” or something like that if my memory serves me correct ,for sure it wasnt a one punch ko for sure there was knees before so dont say it was a PUNCH it was a punch that was precided by a few knees

  24. MMAKansas says:

    @Dennis

    You are gracious my friend, thanks for not kicking me when my boy is down. I am truly a fan of Wand, and you could have just cut my legs off with the fact that he is taking a year off… so good luck to your boy Chuck this Saturday, I will be watching for sure..

  25. richard says:

    kansas
    wandy is an animal i predict two things could happen with him either he could come back and suck and suck bad maybe pull a pedro rizzo but on the other hand he could come back and be superman and kick the sh*it out of everyone so dont cry brother he will be back

  26. MMAKansas says:

    Yo…. that is my thinking too, either he will rest up and come back and win the 205 or he will get knocked out again and that will be the end of an era .. period.. but hey on the bright side, he and Dana White are having an open dialog now so I think he will probably be in an octagon when he comes back, and can you imagine how the UFC would market Wand… man….

  27. richard says:

    but if liddel wins he wont fight for like 6 months anyways so u never know wandy might fight chuck anyways

  28. bvrasp says:

    @Kansas

    i dont think there is any question of if he will come back, its too big of a payday to miss out on, win or lose hes getting large beans to fight chuck, if nobody else. Look at the Royce vs Hughes fight…

  29. richard says:

    i actually thought that gracie was gonna whoop some azzz

  30. bvrasp says:

    Yea Rich! that was a serious fight, like i said before i always been a fan of Hughes skills, tho not his personality. Think back to when Royce was man handling Dan Severn back in the days giving up over 100 lbs of weight, i didnt think Hughes strength would be much of a problem. Hughes proved to be the real deal, my respect for him went up bigtime after that fight, i didnt think any less of Royce tho, hes a legend, nothing can ever change that.

  31. richard says:

    now think out of the box hughs in royces prime who wins?

  32. PATRICK says:
