After defeating Nate Marquardt this past Saturday at UFC 73: Stacked, Anderson Silva can now look ahead to UFC 77 in October and a rematch with Rich Franklin in Cincinnati, Ohio. As you can tell from this video by Fightlinker.com, I don’t think Rich is too thrilled looking forward to the rematch.

if everyones seeing that rich is scared everyone sees it why is this fight gonna happen thinking of it now the ufc needs to get more talent at 185 its really lacking right now

  2. Dr J says:

Good question. I really am perplexed by this matchup again. If Rich gets dominated again by Silva, what is left for him in the UFC? Is he just going to hang around like Tito and fight a few upcoming fighters until 1 or 2 years passes and Silva is no longer champ?

  3. richard says:

i know in the past we have talked about each someones nemisis there is guys that other guys just cant beat rich franklin is a great fighter but he cant beat silva hes got a punchers chance i guess but he has to punch him first

  4. Amir says:

speaking of 185lbrs…anyone have an idea on when and where kendall Grove fits into all this? I think he can do some damage if they atually let the f—er fight more than once a year. He has won every fight in convincing fashion…when are we gonna see HIM face Okami, Swick, Lister, Marquardt, etc. oh yeah and a few guys named Martin Kampmann, Thales Leitas, Chris Leben, the list goes on and on of good fighters that we never get to see fight EACH OTHER.

  5. bvrasp says:

haha amusing video, but personally, i dont agree.. Everyone is counting Rich out against Silva. Let me tell you guys something, one fight doesnt mean anything, like i said after the Franklin – Silva fight happened. Rich screwed up in that fight, he had the wrong gameplan and he was unable to adapt like he usually does.

Some people will say, he didnt make a mistake, he just got his *** kicked, these people obviously dont train. Do you think Rich franklin knows how to escape the muai thai clinch? well, i do.. and im nobody, hes a professional fighter, im pretty sure he knows how to escape the clinch. Thing is, he didnt want to, because he has dominated ALL his previous opponents in the clinch.

Then he started getting hammered to the body and by that point it was too late for him to do anything. THEN he got his *** kicked..

They are very well matched fighters, both have great movement and precise striking, theyre both smart guys and crafty fighters, id say the only real difference is that Silva has the advantage on the ground.

Str8 up, im picking Franklin for the rematch. You guys think hes scared? are you serious? A rematch, to get his title back, in his hometown, do you think he will come into the fight scared? he will probably train harder for this fight than he ever has before, more determined than ever before.

I like franklin in this matchup, i can see how guys would pick Silva to win, but dont count out Rich completely..

  6. PATRICK says:

YEA UMMMM RICH WONT BE SILVIA AGAIN?

  7. richard says:

    bvrasp
once again buddy u have great points but im willing to bet a mmahq shirt u?

  8. bvrasp says:

hehe rich, that was a nice move, i like that hehe. But honestly im not that confident that Rich will win, in my eyes its more of a coin flip.. I think theyre more evenly matched than most people.

So, naw, i wouldnt bet on Rich to win, but i WILL bet on BJ to beat Sherk!! haha, you down for that bet?

  9. richard says:

im down for that bet,but i think silva is in franklins head i think he will have so much pressure on him espically being that its his home town that he will choke

  10. bvrasp says:

one things for sure! its gonna be interesting to see what happens that night!

So were on for BJ vs Sherk? 1 mmahq Tee

  11. richard says:

yup, just dont disappear on me to bvrasp LOL

  12. bvrasp says:

    LOL, any word from Dennis??

  13. richard says:

NO hes been stuck on 1306 for a while

  14. MMAKansas says:

First off, this video does NOT show a freaked out Franklin, it shows an enthused Rich Franklin, seriously I think he just wants to see someone give it to Anderson good, and it didn’t happen so he just looked like he didn’t give a crap.

Franklin will lose against Anderson Silva. For one, Richard you are correct, Silva is in Franklin’s head, bad.. and what’s worse Rich hasn’t won by knockout or submission in a while, I mean his last 2 fights have gone from okay to boring, while Silva just keeps knocking out and submitting people… so yeah Anderson Silva at 185.. dominant. The other obvious indicator is Rich’s own frustration with HIMSELF after his most recent fight in the locker room, he was absolutely frustrated and down on himself, throwing stuff around, he looked like he was hitting his head against a wall as if to say ” I’m at an impasse and I can’t get past the competition like I did before”.

I do think that Amir made an EXCELLENT point, Kendall Grove would be a significant step up in competition for Anderson Silva, as he is so tall that the clench would be almost impossible to use against him, his reach is long, and he has been severely underestimate, under fought, and I just like him against Silva, I think he would have a better chance than Okami or Franklin.

  15. MMAKansas says:

Oh… and I would take the BJ / Sherk bet, IN FAVOR OF BJ!.. lol.. Penn would kick Sherks Muscled up butt!!

  16. richard says:

do i smell me owning three non existant t shirts?

  17. richard says:

kendall grove sorry doesnt have a great chin koed by hector ramirez and joe riggs sorry guys.

  18. MMAKansas says:

LOL!!!!.. Richard what can I say man, you are funny bro… but no that is you smelling the rank pick you are making with regard to BJ and Sherk… lol…

THERE IS NO WAY THAT SHERK COULD BEAT A MASTER LIKE THE PRODIGY, TO SAY THAT SHERK COULD BEAT PENN WOULD BE LIKE SAYING ELVIS SINOSIC COULD BEAT ANDERSON SILVA IF HE DROPPED TO 185!! LOLOLO!

  19. MMAKansas says:

Sorry bro but Kendall was training with puuuuusyyysss before and he is training FULL-TIME with PROFESSIONALS now..

  20. MMAKansas says:

    @DENNIS

DID YOUR DOG DIE BRO?!! WHAT’S HAPPENING IN DENNIS LAND LATELY?!

  21. MMAKansas says:

HEY DENNIS ARE YOU LIKE OUT THERE DUDE?!

  22. richard says:

but do u think kendall grove punches harder than silva i think not if u noticed when they had the count down to ufc 72 silva was training punching a little ball helping his hand eye cordination hes accurate as hell and wont be beatin anytime soon.KANSAS so does that mean were on for a shirt?plus kendall is training with tito probably learning ground and pound plus plus he has long arms and legs good for a bjj black belt to grab a hold of

  23. MMAKansas says:

    @Richard

I am trying to summons the “DENNIS” .. shhhhhhh for a minute, you are making too much noise!

  24. MMAKansas says:

    Just kidding..

on for which bet on a shirt?

    Penn/Sherk or what?

Yeah, I think that Kendall has a great sprawl, he isn’t going down with Silva, and I think he is learning out to use his condor reach which would pose a problem for Silva… remember you don’t have to punch harder, you can punch more often to compensate and wear down an opponent.. I have seen Silva get his butt handed to him in Pride, so don’t think he is invincible, he is just on a string of wins in a division that was weak to begin with..

  25. richard says:

yeah the penn sherk if it happens ,but kendall grove is a huge for 185 long wise but in a striking match can u honestly see him beating him honestly

  26. MMAKansas says:

    @Richard

I will take you up on the Penn Sherk bet.. don’t forget either.. my imaginary shirt size, (kidding DrJ) is Medium, I like them tight to show my manliness off.. lol.. kidding.. or large either will work.. yeah.. either will do just fine… I will get you my email, so I can get you my address to send it.. will that be coming FexEx, UPS, or USPS? lol

As far as Grove vs Silva, I think Silva would probably win, but as I said in my post, Grove would be a “step up in competition” for him… I never said that Grove would beat Silva, I just said he would have a better chance, perhaps put out a more exciting fight..

  27. richard says:

its on then but did u guys hear about a guy that died during ufc 72

  28. MMAKansas says:

    No what happened?

  29. MMAKansas says:

    ICE FAN!!! WHERE ARE YOU!!???

  30. bvrasp says:

The icefan fell off Kansas.. its been.. what 3 weeks now?

  31. richard says:

this guy i guess fell off a wall or something a died at ufc 72 its true

  32. MMAKansas says:

    @Richard

How long had Dennis been posting on this site anyhow?

  33. MMAKansas says:

@BV… you know how long Dennis has been posting on MMAHQ?

  34. richard says:

    KANSAS
to tell u the truth i dont even know how i started posting but i think i was here before him im not sure

  35. richard says:

    KANSAS
drj has all our comments on his stats i just dont know where to go to see our first comment i went to the last page and it wasnt there

  36. MMAKansas says:

    @Richard

Yeah I looked there too.. def not listing the first comments.. I did find an old Dennis comment that I found quite hillarious, so I copied it… lol..
“All you guys that say Chuck’s a wuz are just plain stupid. Have you been paying attention? Silva’s no slouch either, but remember in UFC you’re not allowed to kick a man behind the head when he’s face down on the mat. You can’t bite, pinch, pull hair & scratch either.
So here’s the dividing line….. rules!
In UFC, Chuck knocks out Silva in the first round.
In Pride, Silva agressively grabs Chucks leg, then his groin, bites his arm, scratches his belly, & pulls down his shorts. When Chuck bends over to pull up his shorts, Silva shoots taking Chuck to the ground where he can stomp Chucks groin 6 or 7 times, then kick him in the head while he’s on the mat, poke him in the eye, bend back his fingers. After ignoring several warnings, the fight is finally stopped because Chuck can no longer defend his groin.” -Dennis

NOW I KNOW WHY HE WOULD ARGUE WITH ME ABOUT WANDERLEI SILVA vs CHUCK SO HARD!

  37. MMAKansas says:

This is some funny OVER THE TOP stuff man!

  38. MMAKansas says:

So who do you guys think is winning the UFC 74 HeavyWeight Championship fight?

    Gonzaga
    or
    Couture
    ????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

  39. R.J. St.Croix says:

i dont even want to call that one….the way i see it is Gonzaga is kinda like a bigger Couture. he has pretty much all the same tools as Randy but hes got the size. but then again Randy Couture is Randy Couture and sometimes thats all it takes.

  40. R.J. St.Croix says:

and by the way the legend of the one you call Dennis says he will return when the iceman rise again from the ashes of defeat lol. anyways come back Dennis we need someone to argue with!

  41. richard says:

im not going to be jaded by the replay of the head kick of mirko cro crop i think he faught sloppy {cro crop}and gonzaga i think is going to let it get to his head and try for that head kick and is going to get a rude awakening randy for sure has been training since cro crop lost i will not doubt randy and this fight should be awesome

  42. richard says:

yeah everyone else is so nice except for that ******* DOCDAVE but he is gone to so

  43. R.J. St.Croix says:

i really hope Gonzaga vs. Couture is a war. we all know Randy can go 5 so if Gonzaga can hang with him for 25min. it should be one hell of a fight.

  44. richard says:

i have also heard that cro crop has asked for a match with the minatauro i was very unempressed with minatauro last fight and i have come to hate heath herring i just dont like that guy

  45. richard says:

the belts are on the line for the hendo and rampage fights

  46. bvrasp says:

well, Dr.J turned me on to this way of checking my posts..

    http://www.mmahq.com/mmahqstats/?stats_author=bvrasp

just put dennis at the end, or your name if you want, it should eb all his posts.

  47. bvrasp says:

all his posts are there.. but there not in the right order, i dunno what order theyre in.. maybe Dr.J knows. I know i was on the site before dennis.. I think Richard was too.

  48. Dr J says:

From my records, the first post Dennis ever made on MMA HQ was on January 10, 2007 and very appropriately, this is the first comment he ever made:

“Chuck is the man………period. No man can stand …”

The first outside comments ever on MMA HQ came from Jason Gatties when he still was running Knockoutzone.com and from Zach Arnold over at FightOpinion.com
