Travis LutterTravis Lutter announced today on his MySpace blog that he has pulled out of his fight at UFC 74 due to an injury.

Saturday July 28th I was training and reagrivated a old injury. After giving my neck a chance to heal I decided I was not going to be healed in time for the fight. I would like to thank all the people that were helping me prepare for this fight and I look forward to fighting in the near future.

Lutter was scheduled to fight Ryan Jensen who was scheduled to make his UFC debut with an 11-1 record. After Lutter failed to make weight for his title fight against Anderson Silva at UFC 67, many people wondered whether or not Lutter would ever fight again in the UFC. With this injury, it will now be several more months before we see Lutter return to the octagon.

    OMG…I’m heartbroken…this guys a fugazi

  2. bvrasp says:

Hes a good BJJ fighter, but man.. he seems pretty flaky for a professional athlete. I mean, injuries happen and you cant blame the guy if hes legitimately hurt, but if thats the case, hes had a strng of bad luck lately. I dunno how many chances you can really get, because in reality, nobody cares why you cant perform, your opponent, the fans and the promoter too. It looks bad for everyone and most of all yourself. Injurys suck bigtime.. look at Kang..

Holy crap…Chris Leben vs. Terry Martin at UFN…that’s gonna be a great fight, I can’t wait to see that one.

  4. bvrasp says:

I have to agree with you there Amir! thats gonna be a slugfest.. Im gon have to go with Martin in that fight. Since he came down in weight hes been a beast, and im pretty sure Leben will try and stand toe to toe with him. Theres one that not going the distance lol, maybe 1st round KO.

Nice article, can you guess why they consider the contract restrictive? because UFC doesnt want him fighting anywhere else, and why should Fedor be held down like that? His manager is right, Fedor is too big of a fighter to be bullied around by the UFC.

  6. Amir says:

Yeah man, Fedor is clearly in a class of his own. I think it shows how power hungry the UFC cronies are. They have to show everyone that they hold all the cards, I’m glad Fedor is holding out. The only thing I’m expecting next is for Dana White to start publicly bashing Fedor and saying that he is ducking Chuck Liddell…lol.
