Here is the audio from yesterday’s UFC 79 Conference Call with Dana White, Matt Hughes, and Georges St. Pierre.

This was the conference call to “officially” announce the fight to the media and allow for questioning. If you have some time, give it a listen.

PARAPHRASED QUOTE FROM HUGHES IN THIS INTERVIEW:

“I don’t have that same hunger for this fight now that Serra is not the one I am fighting”…

Hughes’ heart isn’t in this boys… he is gonna lose…

I do not know Kansas, you really got all that from one statement. I think this fight could go either way. I guess we will all pick who we like the best and try to find holes in the other persons armor.

You can never say that someone is going to win for sure, especially when one of the people is GSP. How could somebody with that much talent lose to somebody of such less skill? He is a mental basket case, you never know which GSP your gonna get. And I bet if GSP loses to Hughes, he will say in his robotic voice,…”I did not prepare like I should have, but I am not one to make excusses, this lose is one of the best things that has ever happened to my career.”

Hehehe… yeah Ozzy those are good points… GSP full throttle with his A game and mental state in good standing will beat Hughes in my opinion…

If he loses…… you guessed it right on the money…. my dough is on GSP though, he WONT underestimate Hughes in my opinion… the only bump I see for GSP vs Hughes is for Hughes, the game plan is the same for all opponents, scoop slam, work the top game, and either lay and pray or submit or gnp.. simple as that

For GSP, he has to adjust to each opponent and to that opponents style, so it will be MORE work for him to beat Hughes than for Hughes to beat him in the pre-fight training which is where the battle is ultimately decided for the most part..
