Bent-Layrd.gifThe International Fight League officially announced today three title fights for their first fight card in 2008 currently scheduled for February 29 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The IFL has completely revamped their “team-based” fight league system for the new year and will be testing their new “fight camp” system out in the UFC’s backyard for the first time. After crowning champions in all five weightclasses at the World Grand Prix finals in December, three of the five champions will have their first title defense on the card.

IFL lightweight champion Ryan Schultz is scheduled to face John Gunderson, who was originally slated to face Chris Horodecki in the Grand Prix finals before pulling out due to injury. Heavyweight champion Roy Nelson will face off against former UFC fighter Fabiano Scherner while middleweight champion Matt Horwich will fight Tim Kennedy.

The official fight camps competing at the event will be Extreme Couture vs. MMA Top Team and Team Quest vs the Lion’s Den.
