I'm pretty sure that Steve Mazzagati was briefed, and knew in general, well before the fight that since Lesnar was so inexperienced...he would have to watch him closely. Lesnar could probably kill a man with direct blows to the back of his head.

I mean, most of the real, experienced pros out there like Mir know that their opponents are experienced enough to fight in a professional manner without having to worry about illegal hits like that. This particular fight though, was like the first days of the UFC, where anything goes. I told my buddy to bet $50 on Mir and he won, I bet my $50 on Sylvia and that piece of sh-t did what he did, tapped out like a little bit*h immediately.

And we bet REAL MONEY btw.

I'm going to have to disagree with you on this one Kansas. Lesner is the real deal, and was damn close to winning that fight. A little polish no his game, and some more fights under his belt he won't be losing many more. It was a mistake to put him in with someone as crafty as Mir for his 2nd MMA fight ever. I agree with BV MFS was made for guys like Lesner, he should seriously consider training in Bettendorf.

im with BV on this one, Lesnar is a beast and he needs some work but i really feel like hes gonna be a contender sooner or later. think about what he did, he could have won just as easily as he lost last night and hes fighting Frank Mir a true vet and he has almost no MMA experience. Lesnar made a rookie mistake because hes a rookie. as long as Brock wants to keep going he will get better and start winning against top ten fighters.

Well Kansas, i was never a WWE fan, so i dont really know much about Lesnar. All i see is a Huge guy whos got great wrestling skills and is SERIOUS about MMA.

Love him or hate him, i think Brock is here to stay, regardless of all hype, he could become a great fighter, a REAL fighter.

I think he destroyed Mir in that fight and i would pick Lesnar again in a rematch. He completely dominated Mir guys, the foreign environment of the octagon and the dumb ref call contributed to Brock losing. Hes green and hes a rookie in this game plus the confusion that occured.. relish the moment guys, because i dont see that ever happening again after this loss.

Next fight, no matter the opponent, Brock will CRUSH them!! i like the guy, hes obviously a determined athlete who loves to compete, not perform a muscle bound ballet at WWE.

Lesnar needs to train at Miletich man..

I agree that they point deduction was rediculous. Lesnar was not warned and it simply should have been a warning. I think Maz went in there to stop the fight because he thought Mir was finished and then once he got them separated he realized Mir was fine and new that he had to do something since he had stopped the fight.

A warning would have been fine, but a point deduction with no warning is bogus. However, with a warning they should have been stood up. Anytime you see someone get a warning, the fight is always restarted on the feet. If Brock got a warning, it wouldn't be fair for him to keep the dominant position so the standup was definitely justified. The point deduction was bogus, but the standup was justified in either case.

Kansas, did you notice the NASTY elbow Horn caught to the back of the head? the ref didnt say anything there.. no warning, nothing.

In Lesnars case, he got no warning either, he got a point deducted and STOOD UP! whats all that about? i dont care about the point really even though it was BS, the real problem was the standup. Why not start back in the same position? With Brock in half guard.

It was complete BS man, you guys just arent admitting it because you wanted to see Lesnar lose. If that happened to Wandy im sure you would be pissed Kansas lol.

Hey.. lost the mother load on Tim in this fight... no problem though I wanted Nog to win, it was a logical bet, but I am glad I was wrong. Go Nog!

As far as Mir/Lesnar, I called it, I stood by my call, and I am glad to see Frank in fine form again, he pulled a superb submission after getting elbowed half to death by Lesnar, I did feel that the ref was justified in warning Lesnar, as far as people saying Brock got robbed on that stop and reset, I don't think so, this isn't street fighting, there are rules just like in football, you interfere in a pass, you get a penalty and that penalty can cost you a game, a season, a superbowl, it cost Brock his debut, because had he not begun just slamming Mir to the back of the head, he would indeed have won the fight, so really Frank didn't win as much as Brock lost... Horn came into the fight last night looking out of shape, he has a great attitude, but I don't think he put forth even 50% of what he has into training and in the octagon last night.. it was sad to see Jeremy Horn get submitted like that... just sad...

Well, I think the UFC will sell soon, some of the rumors flying around are that he is getting offers from the WWE, I could see that happening, and I would hate it all the way, no better way to turn the UFC from a "nitch" sport into a household name... but no better way to drive away its hardcore base and talent, I think it would have problems if it went that direction, to the point of shutting down, but thats all stipulation and not fact yet...
