  3. Drehog says:

is it just me or was Mac Danzig in that opening segment?? looks to me like a marketing ploy for Fedor w/ some stock PrideFC footage

Hey.. Just read that MIRKO CRO COP is FLYING to JAPAN to make a BIG announcement tomorrow! Rumors are FLYING.. some are saying PRIDE FC former owners are restarting under a different name “DREAMS” and he is being let go by the UFC because he cost’s too much and he is losing so he is signing with a new Japanese group, others suggest he is going to M-1, or K-1 to fight there now… nothing is confirmed… he could be fighting in the UFC once more, but why would he go to Japan to make the announcement????? RUMOR MILL ROLLING HERE IN KC….

    • bvrasp says:

ya i read that same article Kansas hehe, ofcourse nothing is confirmed, but i was pretty excited to hear about “Dreams” too. Im still a crocop fan, i dont care how bad hes looked in his last 2 fights. Im glad hes not retiring because he hit a few bumps in the road, his days may be numbered in the sport, but hes still one of the best srikers in the world.

  5. MMAKansas says:

Oh.. and with regard to “Fighting Gaydor” … which major cable channel picked this up on which major time slot???? YEAH.. THOUGHT SO… NOBODY… lol what a joke…

    • bvrasp says:

GAYDOR?? are you serious Kansas?? you dont have respect for Fedor?? the guys a living legend.

      • MMAKansas says:

The Show looks like crap.. sorry its second rate.. Fedor is a great fighter.. was a great fighter.. dunno man.. we haven’t seen him fight for real in a long while… he’s still good I guess.. I would like to see him fight someone from the West with a real name and game though.. you cannot sit on old victories forever..

        • bvrasp says:

As far as the show goes, we dont even know anythig about it, except its a 16 man tourney style reality show. What will determine if the show is utter crap or not is the fighters they have.

This show is a good idea if you ask me, because like you just said, you cant sit on old victories forever. Whos left to fight Fedor man? Randy? big Tim? Josh Barnett? it would be nice to see those fights but the problem is money an contracts an sht, its not Fedors fault man.

Certainly not any reason to call him Gaydor… i think you been talking to Patrick too much Kansas, hes corrupting you lol.

  6. bvrasp says:

I JUST HAD A GREAT THOUGHT!

Theres nobody to fight Fedor, maybe they should have 2 fighters at 155 fight Fedor at the same time!! HOW COOL WOULD THAT BE! ofcourse it would be way different than fighting 1 guy and it would raise a whole HEAP of new possibilities, fighting styles, strategies, etc.. a move like this would definatley revolutionize the quality of martial arts as a whole and raise the level of skill WAY UP.

Ofcourse I realize the danger to the small guys, so maybe they could have headgear or something…

any thoughts on this idea guys???

    • R.J. St.Croix says:

lol thats f*ckin funny as hell. of course it would never work, i dont care how bad asss you are 1 vs. 2 is almost always a losing battle i know because ive been there more then once. its really hard to sit on someones chest and pound em out when your getting hit or choked by another guy. when i was in high school my favorite saying was i’ll knock you and your ***** buddy out, and it would end with me picking my self up thinking “man that was a really dumb idea”

      • bvrasp says:

hehe no doubt RJ, but im talking about a HW fighting 2 LW. In real life situations usually everyone is about the same size.

You made my point exactly, you simply CANT mount someone while another guy is still running around. The tactics have to be WAY different, any grappling would be very brief, like a throw for example.

There are alot of martial arts techniques created to defend against multiple attackers. Fighting 2 guys is not impossible when your twice their size hehe. When you get to 3 guys, then ya its pretty much impossible lol.

I still think its a great idea!! even if its just some kind of special matches, not every match on every event.

        • PATRICK says:

u guys ever see that mike valley fight… he took on 4 dudes and whooped they asses

        • Dr J says:

Thats because Mike Vallely is a stinking beast!!

Here’s a little Mike V clip and here is the clip where he takes on 4 guys at once

He actually has a show called Drive on FuelTV now and he has mellowed out a bunch from his younger days

        • PATRICK says:

i seen that i was like holy poop

        • bvrasp says:

LOL thats a pretty funny clip. Mike obviously has done some training and those guys all looked like little girls who were afraid of him except one guy was brave, but still a little girl hehe. He was never actually fighting more than one guy at once, at one point he was almost fighting 2 but not quite, they were scared shtless lol.

You can tell two things from that clip, Firstly Mike is just a tough dude. Secondly, he has no training whatsoever fighting more than one opponent hehe.

What im talking about is much different, the idea is professional fighters man.

For example, Akido, the most popular practitioner being ofcourse Steven Seagal. Just one example of a martial arts style that was designed from its inception to specialize in defending vs multiple attackers..

        • R.J. St.Croix says:

lol thats awesome Doc that you even know who Mike V is, that dude is an animal. and for any of you guys who like skateboarding i suggest you see Mike V’s part in the video BlackLabel:LabelKills its a testament to real skateboarding.

  7. bvrasp says:

Heres another good clip of skillfully fighting multiple opponents. This is Krav Maga, i first became aware of it when i met Moni Azik, an ex hand to hand instructor for the isreali special forces. The guy is literally Rambo, at his Dojo “The Edge” is where i also met Carlos Newton, he was training with Moni and also helping train other guys and putting on clinics etc..

In this clip, theres no grappling, it basically striking against multiple opponents. Notice how the defender trys to position himself in such a way where only one guy can attack him at a time.

Another good source is Bas Ruttens “Lethal Streetfighting” if your interested, download that man, some great stuff there, including fighting multiple opponents, limited space (like in a bar) and improvised weapon use (bottles, chairs, etc..).

  8. MMAKansas says:

    @BV

Fedor…. GAYDOR.. sounds better i think.. the Russian Commie wont fight a real opponent… who’s he fought and won or lost to in the last year????? The guys is just sitting around…. making YOUTUBE videos and doing SHERDOG interviews…. lol… fighting GIANT KOREANS lol… whooo hoooo LOLOL!

Gotta respect the LEGEND???? lol.. he has a great fighting record but how long has Fedor been around?? NOT A LEGEND YET PAL.. LEGEND STATUS WHEN HE’S BEEN IN MORE WARS FOR A LONGER TIME..

He is at his peak right now.. nobody is a legend at their peak except Randy Couture..

    • MMAKansas says:

Now on the other hand Fedor’s Muay Thai coach Ernesto “Mr. Perfect” Hoost is what can be classified as a LEGEND.. amigo… lol the Legend is the man the CHAMPIONS go to so they can become, or maintain champion status… after they rescind their CHAMPION status.. they become Legends…. Mr Hoost is no longer a champion, but he was …

NOW HE TRAINS CHAMPIONS… Wanderlei might be going to train there soon…

    • bvrasp says:

WHAAAT!!! are you serious man???? You consider Randy a Legend, but not Fedor? you gotta gimme the breakdown on how that works man.

Your saying who has he fought in the past Year? who you fought last year doesnt make you a legend, its the overall man. I know your not saying he hasnt fought anyone overall, because the list of tough guys hes fought and the wars hes been in are huge.

but seriously, before i start bringing up Fedors exploits as the most dominant HW champ in mma history, i want to know why you dont think hes a legend????

And yes, i know about Hoost, most dominant fighter in K1 history, Aerts was up there too, but anyways… who has Hoost fought in the past year???? LOL

  9. bvrasp says:

    @Kansas

About Fedor, im not sure how you already answered my questions, but heres a brief summary of the points made.

    ——-

YOU SAID “the Russian Commie wont fight a real opponent… who’s he fought and won or lost to in the last year?????”

THEN I SAID “Your saying who has he fought in the past Year? who you fought last year doesnt make you a legend, its the overall man”

    ——-

I SAID “You consider Randy a Legend, but not Fedor? you gotta gimme the breakdown on how that works man”

YOU SAID “he has a great fighting record but how long has Fedor been around?? NOT A LEGEND YET PAL.. LEGEND STATUS WHEN HE’S BEEN IN MORE WARS FOR A LONGER TIME..”

YOU ALSO SAID “the Legend is the man the CHAMPIONS go to so they can become, or maintain champion status… after they rescind their CHAMPION status.. they become Legends”

    ——-

So what your telling me is, what makes a legend is the amount of Wars hes been in, and that he has to train other guys when his career is over?? I dont really agree with your criteria of what makes a Legendary fighter, but lets use that as an example.

You mentioned Fedor and Randy, you say Randy is a Legend, but Fedor is not. So by your criteria, the first thing to examine is the number of fights each guy had..

Randys Record: 16-8 total of 24 fights.. hmm, doesnt really look like the record of a legend does it??

Fedors Record 28-1-1 total of 30 fights, with one loss which was due to a cut by an illegal elbow, and one NC because of an accidental headbutt. So effectively Fedor has never been BEATEN in a fight in his enitre mma career.

Fedor the “*** guy” has been in more wars that “the legend” Randy Couture, and has been MUCH more successful in winning those wars too.

Your other point was that a Legend is a guy who teaches.. that doesnt mean too much man.. You can be a legend without teaching, and you can train champions without being a Legend. Thats apples and oranges, thats where your definition of a Legend really breaks down for me.

By your own defenition Wandy wouldnt be considered a Legend, because he doesnt teach like Randy does, actually he learning from Randy lol.

I dunno about you, but i consider Wandy a Legend, and Fedor, and Randy and a WHOLE HEAP of other guys, and its not even because of their records. Its because of what they have accomplished in the sport, the amount of skill, talent, effort, heart and str8 guts that they exhibit.

Thats what makes you a legend man. Look at crocop, hes a legend in my book, its not about how you did on your last fight.

    • R.J. St.Croix says:

true speak!… MMA is a big place with more then enough room for more then Randy. i would consider Jeremy Horn a legend. why? because hes just a hell of a fighter with a ton o heart, forget his record and if he won a bunch of titles and look more at longevity and love. Royce Gracie has only 20 fights and a handful were not top level fighters but would you not consider Royce a legend?

      • MMAKansas says:

I am not elevating Randy above all … lets get it straight.. Legends get inducted into the Hall of Fame.. whether its in the UFC or somewhere else.. Big John is a Legend, Royce Gracie, Ken Shamrock, Dan Severn, Randy Couture, soon, there will be a place for Chuck, who is entering into that Legend status as we speak.. so is Wandy.. Shogun wont be a Legend for YEARS.. popularity and lots of wins don’t make you a LEGEND.. anyways I am done with this.. so gnight, hope Kimbo SLICES up Tank..

    • MMAKansas says:

BV, first.. you have waay too much time on your hands… lol.. second.. you broke my post down and added CRAP of your own idea such as..

“So what your telling me is, what makes a legend is the amount of Wars hes been in, and that he has to train other guys when his career is over??”

Basically you are arguing not with what i said, but with your INTERPRETATION of what I said….. which nullifies your entire argument and post…

If you don’t understand what I am saying.. then dont speculate on it …. of course anyone can do anything here.. but you aren’t correct in your guess work of what I am trying to say.. and i don’t have more time to divulge on the status of LEGEND.. so lets put it this way… Fedor is a great champ…. but he isn’t ROYCE… COUTURE…. SHAMROCK.. yet… he will be in a few years.. but not right now.. sorry man …. not going into this anymore because its too time consuming and you are already misinterpreting my comments and making me out to be some idiot… with your interpretations of my comments..

      • bvrasp says:

I didnt mean to make you sound like an idiot, that wasnt my intention at all, im just trying to figure out why you waould consider Randy a Legend and not Fedor, thats all.

Lets ignore the previous posts, correct me if im wrong, your stance on this is:

“Fedor is a great champ…. but he isn’t ROYCE… COUTURE…. SHAMROCK.. yet… he will be in a few years.. but not right now..”

I dont think theres anything ambiguous about that statement, flatout hes not a Legend YET.

        HERES MY ONE SIMPLE QUESTION

What has to happen in the next few years for you to consider Fedor a legend? beat Randy, Tim and Barnett? or what??

        • MMAKansas says:

He needs to keep doing what he has been doing for a few more years.. and he needs to have some battles on a global scale that catch the attention of Westerners and not just Japanese/Euro Pride fans..

Cro Cop just stalled his LEGEND status by his performance in the UFC.. he is going back to Japan to regain his swagger, I DO believe the talk about him coming back to the UFC to dominate, and I think he will.. for sure.. but I think that Zuffa wants him to beat Fedor, so he can come back to the UFC and they can say Fedor is a non-issue now.. lol.. Fedor is the greatest HW champ in history, RIGHT NOW.. just a few more years.. the guy still has a baby face man.. lol

      • PATRICK says:

and yes bv talks to much at times

  10. PATRICK says:

fedor is a legend kansas is nuts if he dont think so… but i do think fedor is kinda scared to fight big name dudes
