Today's Mixed Martial Arts News and Analysis Headquarters

With the UFC and now WEC spreading out and holding shows away from Las Vegas, many more MMA fans across the country are getting to see live events.

Our very own MAD, a loyal reader here at MMA HQ, was able to attend last weeks WEC 31 event in New Mexico and was able to enjoy the event with some family. MAD was kind enough to send along a few photos from the event.

You guys read that artice “being john malko-fitch”? some pretty surprising stuff there! did you know he was a “weight lifting freak” as he put it. The dude weighed 265 pounds at one point!! thats crazy man!

    @MAD

Sweet! Bet you had a great time man, thats awesome that you got some pics with Rashad, you had awesome seats too!

  4. MMAKansas says:

I think Wandy’s gonna move down to 185 after the Jardine fight…. I also think Wandy is gonna knock Jardine out…:)

  5. bvrasp says:

ya hes been talking about moving down because of his height, but id rather he stayed at 205, thats where the action is. Plus he cant leave 205 until he gets his rematch with Chuck hehe..

It was his first fight back in the cage, and he got a hell of a tough fight. I think he could bounce back and still be a force at 205, just needs some more experience living and fighting in the US.

  6. MAD says:

Thanks for putting these up Dr J. The fights were great. All the fighters were cool and happy to take pictures with the fans. Since Greg Jacksons camp is in New Mexico all his fighters were there. Rashad, Jardine, Mir, Marquardt and a few others were sitting about six rows in front of us. We were able to get 4 rows from the floor mid cage for $115 which is cheap compared to Vegas UFC events. I will be attending the UFC fight night here in Denver also so hopefully I can get some good pics here also. I hope the UFC and WEC continue to travel around the country so more people have a chance to see these events live they are awsome.

  7. bvrasp says:

hey mad, what was the deal with taking pictures with fighters? was there just a lineup to get your picture taken? or did you approach the guys yourself and ask them??

    • MAD says:

They were all sitting in front of us. They were just talking to the fans most were really cool. I mostly approached them and just talked to them. They would pass right by us to go get beer and were glad to take pictures with the fans. Rhino loves to drink he was pretty loaded by the time the main event started it was pretty funny. Frank Mir was commentating about 50 feet from where we were sitting. Chuck Liddell was close to us also but he didn’t leave the floor to greet the fans. If you had floor tickets you could walk up and talk to any fighter you wanted it was really cool.

daaam thats crazy man, cant wait till i get to see my first UFC event live man. Thats if Toronto ever allows them to come to the city man!!! they would rather have stupid baseball and basketball games with the stands completely empty everytime. The attendance is so pathetic, you can get tickets for free most of the time because they give tons of them out as promotions.

sigh.. get your mind right T.dot.. get the UFC in here, dont let montreal overshadow us!! hehe

TAGG radio show yesterday had Yves talking about his upcoming title shot vs KJ Noonz. Ive been a big fan of Yves for a long time, although hes had a run of bad luck the past few years. Losing on the bodog fight reality show really hurt his career in my opinion.

Now hes strung together a few wins and hes getting a shot at the title, wow, a bit surprising if you ask me. I would have liked to see Yves fight Nick Diaz first since his recent loss to KJ, but either way, ill be cheering for Yves.

Great move by joining up with american top team and he seems really serious about accomplishing something in mma. Much like Serra suddenly came back stronger than ever, i could see Yves making a similar comeback, ofcourse not in the UFC like Serra tho.

    • MAD says:

Yves win Saturday was awsome. The knee he landed while Berto was holding his other leg was sick. Reminded me of the knee Faber pulled on Curran a couple months ago. I like Yves also and hope he does well against KJ.
