Rameau Sokoudjou entered the UFC surrounded by a huge amount of hype and expectation. Coming off huge victories in PrideFC against Ricardo Arona and Antonio Nogueria, Sokoudjou was another Pride fighter who was supposed to do great things in the UFC.

However, like many of his PrideFC compatriots, the “African Assassin” faltered in his Octagon debut losing to top 10 light heavyweight Lyoto Machida at UFC 79. Sokoudjou will look to bounce back at UFC 84 this May and get back some of the explosiveness that was lacking against Machida.

Kazuhiro Nakamura also came over from PrideFC and loss his UFC debut against Machida as well at UFC 76. After the event, Nakamura tested positive for marijuana and was suspended by the California State Athletic Commission for 3 months.

UFC 84 will be headlined by the lightweight title fight between current champion B.J. Penn and former champion Sean Sherk. Also on the fight card are Tito Ortiz vs Lyoto Machida and Wanderlei Silva vs Keith Jardine.

This card is starting to look pretty good too. I hope Machida beats Tito easily as well. He’s been whining a little to much lately. BJ should be able to handle Sherk and the Silva vs Jardine fight should be a war. Finally the UFC is making use of their roster.
