Today's Mixed Martial Arts News and Analysis Headquarters

World Victory Road held their first MMA event last night in Japan. The “Sengoku” event won’t be broadcast here in the United States so I’m giving the results “early.” If you for some reason don’t want to know the results yet, don’t read the rest of this article.

  • Josh Barnett defeats Hidehiko Yoshida via heel hook at 3:23 of round 3
  • Takanori Gomi defeats Duane Ludwig via doctor stoppage at 2:28 of round 1
  • Kazuo Misaki defeats Siyar Bahadurzada via guillotine choke at 2:02 of round 2
  • Kazuyuki Fujita defeats Peter Graham via north-south choke at 1:23 of round 1
  • Evangelista Santos defeats Makoto Takimoto via heel hook at 4:51 of round 1
  • Ryo Kawamura defeats Antonio Neto via unanimous decision
  • Nick Thompson defeats Fabricio Monteiro via unanimous decision

I’m kinda surprised it took Barnett that long to beat Yoshida. Not to sad they are not going to show this event not many interesting matchups. I was pulling for Ludwig because he teaches mui tai and kickboxing at the school I train at. Didn’t think he would win but just hoped he would do well. Why a doctor stoppage did Gomi open a big cut? Other than those couple fight not a very interesting start for WVR.

well, after much searching, i couldnt find any torrents for Sengoku so i just saw the results you posted doc. During my search i noticed alot of people saying we will have the same problem with DREAMS events not being shown or appearing as torrents, atleast no time soon.

This sucks bigtime, but judging by the comments, nobody else seems to care but me. To each their own i guess..

Randlman joined with WVC, too bad we wont get to see him fight…..

  6. Maxx says:

eh…the card was ok. It was mainly nice to see some of these guys just fighting again. I placed 12th overall in mmaplayground for points…definately should have bet more.
