Sherdog.com is reporting that Roan Carneiro and Ryo Chonan have both signed contracts to face each other at UFC 85 this June in London, England.

Chonan and Carneiro fought once before back in 2005 with “Piranha” Chonan winning via TKO in the third round.

UFC 85 is scheduled for June 7 at London’s O2 Arena. Chuck Liddell will fight Rashad Evans in the main event. Also scheduled to fight are Fabricio Werdum vs Brandon Vera and Martin Kampmann vs Jorge Rivera.

Also, I’ve finally added a “Rumors” section to MMA HQ after many of you have asked for it. Its still pretty sparse as I’m in the process of adding all the info, but if in the future any of you hear of fights that aren’t listed, let me know.

No really Patrick… tell us what you really think.. lol

  3. MMAKansas says:

Wanderlei Silva is actually posting his picks for the main event at his next fight.. BJ Penn vs Sean Sherk… he says he is picking B.J. (my pick as well) because he is more technical and is training his butt off for the fight, he believes it will go back and forth and be the fight of the year, well he said fight of the Century but that is a bit overstated in my opinion…

  4. MMAKansas says:

Hey guys… GOOD NEWS… Thiago Silva will be fighting another striker at UFC 84 … Antonio “the Samurai” Mendes .. has a pretty good record.. 14-2 and is a Muay Thai fighter, so this should be a bang fest! I think the UFC 84 Card is stacked to the kilt… I mean every fight is a headliner so far.. .. for the UFC 2008 in my estimation is “SO FAR, SO GOOD”.. I am excited for May and I cannot wait man for these fights..

  5. PATRICK says:

    lol kanass… i already said it… who gives a ****..

  6. PATRICK says:

the spider wants roy jones jr in a boxing match… id have to pick the spider..

  7. bvrasp says:

you guys see that rumor about Anderson Silva wanting to Box Roy Jones?? yes, in a ring with boxing rules.

Theres 2 ways to look at this, firstly, it could be a terrible decision for Silva, getting his azzz handed to him by a guy whos past his prime, but still a legend in the boxing world. I dont see any way he could beat Roy, Silvas talents lay in his legs in my opinion, and his great BJJ, not his hands, he might have speed and accuracy, but not the power to hurt someone like Roy.

On the other hand, if they decide to drop like 10 mil in his pocket like Trinidad got when he fought Roy, its definately a good financial decision. Win or lose your getting PAID man, ofcourse Dana would never let this happen, but one fight would earn him like 10 times what hes made in his entire mma career. If i was Silva, i would cash in for sure..

  8. PATRICK says:

    spider would win… my opinion

    • bvrasp says:

Thats ridiculous Patrick.. what makes you think Anderson would beat Roy Jones in a BOXING match?? i mean, you can say you have your opinion, but there has to be some basis there.

Do you even know who Roy Jones jr is??

      • PATRICK says:

hes out of his prime… i didnt think he looked that good at all against trinidad… im confident with the spiders percise striking he would knock him out

        • bvrasp says:

ya hes past his prime, but Silva never had a prime in boxing lol. If he had time to train, he might be able to beat real boxer, but not jumping right to fighting a guy like Jones.

Its a whole different game man, Silvas arms would be jello fighting a 12 round fight, especially against a guy like Jones. He knows how to make you tired in a boxing match man, hes just got too much experience.

        • bvrasp says:

anyone else have an opinion on this?????

        • MMAKansas says:

Okay okay.. BV is right St. Patrick… there is no way in the world Silva could beat Roy with those huge gloves, no knees, no prolonged clinch, no ground game, no elbows, and having to wear shoes would throw him off, Roy has great head movement, a good chin, and he is more comfortable with “hands only” fighting… I also think if I were Silva, and would stand to make… what… 20million on one fight, yeah I would do it, screw the UFC, hehe.. they pay like 100k per fight and could def. pay the big paydays but they just choose to shortchange their stars which is a shame, but hey if I were Silva I would fight the BIG SHOW full contact just for the 20mil.. haaahhaha

        • R.J. St.Croix says:

i would like to see Anderson fight a boxer, i dont think he would do horrible but someone like Roy Jones Jr would pick him apart. the last time i remember getting into a boxing match was Roy Jones Jr vs. John Ruiz for the WBA heavy weight title, and the reason i was into it was because Jones was so small and Ruiz was so big it was 195lbs vs. 225lbs and Jones picked him apart and made it look easy. if that Roy Jones fought Anderson Silva in a pure boxing match i would have to give it to Jones. other than that i dont really know enough boxers that are good right now to make a good assessment.

        • R.J. St.Croix says:

one argument boxing has in its favor is that they train a very small portion of combat sport (punching, avoiding, and footwork) and it is much easier to get real good at one thing rather than a bunch of things. the way i think of it is you take a really good soccer player and you take an NFL kicker, the soccer player is most likely the better all around athlete but i doubt he would break fieldgoal records his first year playing. just my 2 cents.

        • PATRICK says:

whatever…yall can blow me… i stick with my opinion

        • R.J. St.Croix says:

nah Patty your not my type. but its good that you stick to your guns even when your dead wrong lol just playin hommie.

        • PATRICK says:

          yeayeayea

        • bvrasp says:

Richard, there was no post, but we were talking about it in this post in replying to now..

Funny, i watched Pride 25 tonight, and Anderson was saying how hes the Brazilian Roy Jones, and hes still talking about it today lol.

I would give Silva the edge in anything but boxing against Roy, things like mma, kickboxing, even a footrace hehe.

  9. PATRICK says:

anyone see money mayweather last nite…

one guess…. wwe needs more ppv buys so why not give the boxer a hell of a deal to get the mayweather fans to buy there wrestle mania????

    • bvrasp says:

mayweathers in WWE now? i dont watch wrestling so i didnt know that. First of all, isnt he like half the size of the other guys? is he on the sidelines as one of the managers? or is he playing the part of one of the wrestlers wives?

He had a choice, mma or wrestling, i guess he made the right choice, more money, for less effort. You can ACT like a wrestler, but you cant ACT in mma.

  10. PATRICK says:

mayweather is such a ****** actor
