baroni.jpgSam Caplan at FiveOuncesOfPain.com is reporting that Phil Baroni and Murilo “Ninja” Rua will fight each other on the first EliteXC-CBS Saturday Night Fights event.

Baroni just recently fought and lost to Kala Hose in an ICON Sport middleweight title fight. The fight was Baroni’s first fight back after serving a six month suspension by the California State Athletic Commission for a positive steroid test.

“Ninja” Rua once held the EliteXC middleweight title before losing the belt to Robbie Lawler last September. Rua last fought on a Cage Rage card in December against Xavier Pokam.

The first EliteXC show on CBS is currently scheduled to take place on May 31 at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ. The main event will feature Kimbo Slice and the fight card will also feature the EliteXC middleweight title fight between current champion Robbie Lawler and Scott Smith.
