MMAWeekly is reporting that Affliction has reached an agreement with Fox Sports Net to air an hour of the undercard of their upcoming debut event Affliction: Banned.
FSN will begin airing an hour long broadcast beginning at 8:00 PM EST and will show between two and five fights from the undercard including the heavyweight fight between Paul Buentello and Aleksander Emelianenko. The Pay-Per-View portion of the Affliction card will begin at 9:00 PM EST and will be available in both the United States and Canada.
Affliction: Banned is headlined by the heavyweight matchup between Fedor Emelianenko and Tim Sylvia.
In additional Affliction news, Tim Ryan, CEO and president of the Honda Center where the event will take place, announced that over $250,000 worth of tickets were sold in the first 30 minutes. Armondo Garcia, California State Athletic Commission executive director, said that a 3.5 million dollar bond had been posted by Affliction which covers expenses and fighter purses; the rumors of the total fight purse being over 6 million dollars appear to be erroneous

I was reading up that these guys at Affliction are planning to lose alot of money on this event, but they hope it will start a following for their future events.
That confuses me a bit.. they will lose money because theyre paying the fighters more, but how will they make money in future events?? do they plan on paying the fighters less again? if thats the case, what kind of talent will they get?
i guess we just wait and see..
