Looks like Jardine is getting stiffed. Carwin comes in on his debut and makes more? That’s pretty messed up. Clementi makes more than Sherk and he was the champ that’s just wrong also. Maybe some of these guys need new managers unless they were sucked into long contracts like Franklin. Good to see BJ making good money he deserves it. The pay scale continues to go up but the fighters deserve alot more. If the live gate alone was 3 times what they payed the fighters imagine what profit they make after PPV and sponsers. The UFC could open their wallet more the fighter make huge sacrifices and pay alot for training and should be compensated for it.

    • R.J. St.Croix says:

im sure Jardine makes that amount because he signed a long term contract (remember he lost in TUF) at a time when he was just happy to be signed to the biggest org. in N.America and i bet Dana and boys are happy as hell that Keith didnt win because his stock was going way up for a minute there and now when its time to sit down and hash out a new contract Jardine isnt going to be able to ask for top dollar.

    • bvrasp says:

Ya, Dana mentioned the Jardine 10K at the presser. He insisted that Keith Made more than that, still though i dont see how they can operate with these mystery bonuses.

Is it some way to try and fraud out the govt because of taxes etc? i dont know, but if thats the case, why would Dana tell people that fighters make more than they declare in the payouts?

I guess because UFC isnt a public company like the IFL, so they can run all these sahdy backroom deals. I have to agree with Tito in this case, its pretty messed up for a fighter to hope the UFC pays him bonuses and such that arent a part of any contract.

  2. Maxx says:

Still amazing to me that a guy can beat Lidell and then go on to fight Wanderlai Silva, and only bank 10k….should be illegal. Hopefully he really was taken care of in the locker room bonuses Dana talks about.

  3. MMAKansas says:

hehe.. “Locker room bonus” for Jardine… hehe bonus for what, getting knocked out the quickest of the night! … he should be lucky they pay his medical bills, perhaps if he had withstood Wandys best like Wandy did with Chuck for 3 rounds and lost a decision, but a 36 second knockout deserves nothing more than his base pay in my opinion, and his medical bills paid…

    • Maxx says:

Wow…you really mean that? I don’t give a sh*t who the guy is, if he’s competes at the level Jardine does, steps in the ring with the best in the world…knocked out or not…10k is wrong, very wrong. Dana even responded to this very question at the presser…he insinuated that it would be ridiculous to think Jardine only made 10k, and that he made substantially more than that. If some no-name steps in the ring with Mayweather or De la Hoya..you think he’ll make 10k??? hardly..try 5 million minimum. MMA doesn;t have the numbers boxing does..not yet, but you get my point.

      • MMAKansas says:

Maxx, from that perspective, you make a point – a good one that has been brought up repeatedly here and everywhere else, my problem is that world class fighters max at 250k in the UFC.. I think that Champs should be getting minimum 10mil per fight just me…

  4. MMAKansas says:

As far as I am concerned, Jardine is in the same class and catagory as Houston Alexander, win one, get knocked out, win another, get knocked out .. whatever..

    • R.J. St.Croix says:

Jardine seems to be very hit and miss, and im questioning chin, and i know people will say he went three with Chuck but did Chuck land any clean ones on the button? Jardine seems like if you get inside on him hes screwed.

    • richard says:

so tuff on jardine my friend, wandy was coming off three striaght loses and the two before the decision knockouts, plain and simple wandy was gonna win that fight no matter who he faught.

      • MMAKansas says:

…. tough on Jardine.. yes Richard and simply because of Rj’s point, he can’t handle bomb throwing pressure… period.. he has proven it.. and let me ask you.. could Jardine have beaten Cro Cop at his peak or beaten Dan while being extremely sick?? He wouldn’t fight sick is my guess, Cro Cop would have ko’ed him round 1 first minute, and Chuck landed flush on Wandy more than 20 times over 3 rounds never knocking him down once, but going down twice himself…. yes a little critical, not to say Jardine cannot come back and reestablish himself, but his stock just went down quite a bit..

        • bvrasp says:

Ya Kansas, i think your being a bit tough on Jardine too.. I definately wouldnt bulk him in with Houston Alexander, thats for sure.

You saying would Jardine beat Crocop or Hendo? why are you even asking that?? its like your comparing Jardine to Wandy. Hes not in Wandys league man, i dont think anyone would dispute that, i dont think hes in Chucks league either.

He beat Chuck, thats just one fight man, Chuck could have had a bad day. He got KO quick by Houston, that was basically a mistake on his part, he didnt clinch up properly. He beat Forrest in a straight WAR.

Now he got KO by Wandy early, apart from being totally outclassed in my opinion, Wandy also had him figured out before they even stepped in the cage.

In my opinion, Jardine is a good fighter, i think he still has room to grow. I give him alot of respect for fighting Wandy, win or lose, that takes balls man.

        • MMAKansas says:

ehh.. I think you just wasted a whole column’s worth of insight on a tier two fighter.. my opinion solely, hey thats what MMAHQ is for right? .. lol

        • richard says:

          bvrasp
thanks for the back up im not saying jardine is the same level as wandy just he aint no alexander. And 10 grand aint sh*it the ufc should be ashamed.

        • MMAKansas says:

Just because you two agreed doesn’t mean your right.. lol.. if I go get 30 other people to agree with my post, and it’s a total wash, that doesn’t make it right eh?

        • MMAKansas says:

I think Houston and Jardine are in the same catagory, look at the win loss ratio.. fact that Jardine is a former TUF guy that didn’t win in the finals, and that 9 other times out of 10 Liddell would have stomped him.. actually I think Jardine was considered a CAN for Chuck by the organization.. lol .. he just worked a game that got him a split decision.. and Jardines talking TITLE SHOT all irritated and stuff… lack of promotion??? lol .. you guys are hollering about money?? the guy signed the contract, he was a nobody, he didn’t even win the TUF contract so get over it.. it’s on him, if he didn’t WANT IT, he could go back to rage in the freaking cage or doing “WRESTLING” events with gatties… other thing is that he never deserved a title shot just because he knocked out Forrest, well now Wandy knocked out Jardine so what? He wont get a shot at it, he will have to fight Forrest, Chuck II, or some other LHW to get a shot guaranteed.. and he was Champion in PRIDE which ZUFFA owns for 5 years so if any org jumper deserves an immediate title shot its Wanderlei..

        • bvrasp says:

Kansas, you focus too much on right and wrong, im just stating my opinion. Me and Richard hardly EVER see eye to eye on anything, in this case we agree, but that doesnt mean were right and everyone who disagrees is wrong hehe.

Like you said, this is what the HQ is all about.

        • MMAKansas says:

I was seriously, just stirring the pot for kicks and grins.. and I do focus on right and wrong waaay too much.. lol for you guys anyways but for me its right.. everything is relative to you so what do you care..

Jardine should never have fought Wandy, they told him he would get next shot at the title after forrest I guarantee if he won, that’s the only incentive I could see for him to sign on.. he has guts and some skill, but a lot of holes, like I said before, if Chuck were to repeat, he would probably open up those holes and makes some damaging wounds… I think Chucks right hand is losing some of its sting .. just my opinion, but he landed a few on Jardine, they cut him up but nothing serious, and on Wandy.. .gosh my guys tough, but seriously, Chuck must have lost some zip because he admitted after the fight that he landed flush and no dice the whole fight..

Dunno, I think that Forrest is entertaining, and is peaking .. but I don’t see TUF1 beating Rampage either.. I think Forrest will get beaten in that fight, Rampage has enough power to do what Jardine did to him and worse..

        • bvrasp says:

Kansas, lol to the Gatties comment, but seriously Jason has been ok in his last 3 posts, he didnt insult anyone so i say we give him a chance to not be a douche anymore..

Let me ask you this.. You think Houston could go 3 rounds with Chuck? or 3 rounds with anyone for that matter??? no man, hes a first round haymaker one trick pony. Not to say hes a sissy or something, he a guy whos strong and tough enough to have a punchers chance of taking out anyone in the game if he connects. BUT hes not a trained fighter period.

Jardine went the distance with Chuck and BEAT Chuck because he can box. I wouldnt say hes a better boxer than Chuck, but he sure out-boxed Chuck THAT night. It wasnt some lucky punch, Chuck may have not been 100% but Jardine had the skills to capitalize on the situation, something Houston could never do.

        • bvrasp says:

for suuure Jardine has holes, same with Forrest, but what i see is how far these guys have come man. I dont think anyone expected them to improve so much so fast.

Look at Florian too, i think the main factor is these guys deciding to become full time fighters, join great camps and seriously see fighting as their future.

Fighting guys like Chuck and Wandy is essential to your experience and to guage yourself as a fighter. Could you imagine the feeling of stepping into the ring with guys like that? then imagine beating them?? imagine what that would do for your confidence as a fighter! not to mention your bankroll.

Look at Matsui, he pretty much got whipped in every fight, but look who hes fighting! i have a ton of respect for that guy.

        • MMAKansas says:

          @BV.
          all good points..

ehhhh yeah on the subject of Gatties.. he kinda read that and went into ‘douche bag mode”.. lol.. so here we go.. the guys gonna post more BS in the next 4 days then in the past year that i’ve been on here.. lol..

  5. PATRICK says:

doc what’s the word about arlovskis conference today??

  6. MMAKansas says:

Patrick I am not gonna give you a hard time about Andre because you were so good about Wandy… so is he still fighting for a living or what?

  7. PATRICK says:

I dunno if its dre who’s slackin or if its dana…I dunno..
