i heard a while back that Affliction was signing Vitor for a middle weight bout but i all but ignored it, till i notice last night they added it on mmaplayground. im not really sure how i feel about this match up, will Vitor show up ready to fight and use that blazing fast striking style or will he just stand there and let Martin knock him out? in case you havent seen it yet heres a little something to help hype you up a bit:

Affliction knows how to put together an ad.

I think this card rocks… period… just a thought on Bisping.. he’s a punk.. Hamill deserved the rematch and would have done just as well the 2nd time, he got gippped in this whole deal of Bisping moving down cause he couldn’t hack it… UFC is protecting their “British Fighter” so they can use him to move in on the Limey crowd… sucks because they are really going to try and protect him all the way to a title JUST to get in good with the Brits… I don’t like Bisping more and more every day.. hope he gets that fight with Leben and Chris knocks his butt out..

This is a stacked card, the UFC should be worried, cant remember last time I seen a card like this.

Great card. With Donald backing them they could give at least Elite XC a run in the short term. With the IFL about to fold maybe they can pick up a TV deal or something. If they keep putting cards like this together they can stay alive in PPV but they need something else like TV to pump up their PPV. The casual fan will have no idea they even promote fights much less buy them. I hope they can make this work someone needs to put on good cards besides the UFC.

as far as i know Elite has yet to have a pay per view show, there shows are on Showtime and Fight network (in Canada) this is one of the reasons i like EliteXC so much and i a bit pissed that mmaplayground is ignoring this weekends card.

  5. PATRICK says:

hey dudes…this card off the chain….looking foward to this more than ufc cards…my boy arlovski!!!

  7. bvrasp says:

Doc, whats your take on the Wes Sims thing??

    • Dr J says:

I think it’s ridiculous but not surprising from Sims. For Sims to kick the ref and complain with Mark Coleman doesn’t surprise me at all. Ever since he snapped and tried to kill Frank Mir by stomping on his face, Sims has been a loose canon (I’m sure he was before as well, but he just wasn’t on my radar).

  8. bvrasp says:

true, his behaviour is not surprising at all..

but what about the fight being called, then restarted again after the complaints? has this ever happened in a fight before? i dont remember that ever happeneing..

  9. MAD says:

Simms and Coleman are a pair of characters. A few years back a b level show came here with the main event that was supposed to be Wes Simms vs Mark Kerr. It was going to be Kerr’s first fight back in the states after his steroid problems. I was always a Kerr fan so me and a few of my friends went to the show. Kerr broke his hand in training and could not compete. He was sitting just a few rows from us and had screws and pins sticking out of his hand. The promoters didn’t announce that he was unable to fight untill about half way through the show. Obviously the crowd was not pleased so they had Kerr and Simms go into the cage and explain the situation. Kerr showed his hand and said he was sorry for not being able to compete. Then they let Simms talk and he was totally disrespectfull to not only Kerr but also the crowd. He was taunting Kerr saying he would fight with his hands tied, claimed he was faking to dodge him and things like that. Kerr kept his cool the entire time. After he left the ring Coleman and Simms went on a little rant. A couple of guys by the cage yelled something at Coleman and then they started trying to fight people in the audience. They had to be restrained by security it was kinda funny. Anyway I thought it was funny as it seems like this was not an isolated event for them. Really not surprising to me anyway.

3 MMA events this weekend guys, not the most interesting fightcards, but there are definately some interesting fights.

ADRENALINE: this card lost Monson in the main event because of his hand injury, but they brought in Clay Guidas brother Jason Guida to fight mike russow. Im not too interested in this event..

ELITEXC: Ill be watching this one for sure, again not a stellar lineup of fights, but there are a couple worth checking out. Most notable fight is Yves Edwards vs KJ Noons, im pretty excited to see how this fight plays out. Noons ofcourse recently beat up Nick Diaz earning him alot of respect in the fight game, hes looking real hungry too. Yves has had an up and down career lately, though he attributes his sub par performances to his lack of a good team and sparring partners. Now Yves is with American Top Team and he feels good about his training and hes looking to get himself back in the spotlight. This should be a great fight!

this card also features Nick Diaz, Ninja and Ron Waterman.

DREAM 4: The matchups arent amazing, but there are alot of good fighters in this card. We got Aoki, Saku, Mayhem miller, Dong Sik Yoon, Mousasi and Overeem. The grappling match between Crocop and Ralek Gracie has been called off because Mirkos injuries have been flaring up and hes fighting LeBanner at Dream 5 (that should be a great fight).

so dont complain guys, there might not be a UFC event, but theres plenty of fights to get your MMA fix for the week hehe.

Patrick EliteXC is on at 10pm eastern time tonight

      • R.J. St.Croix says:

who you got for the main event tonight B? im gonna say Edwards but i have this feeling hes going to let me down.

        • bvrasp says:

ya RJ im with Yves too, i think the determining factor will be the standup. Should be interesting to see if Yves can work his Thai game around KJs boxing, im thinking he needs to work the clinch. Theres a good chance he will get rocked a few times and elect to take it to the ground.

I dunno whats gonna happen, but it should be entertaining hehe.
