oh my gawd dude those screen shots are killer. if this game turns out to be half as good as it looks i might just bust a nut when it finally comes out lol.

    • R.J. St.Croix says:

im wondering if these pics are game play or cut scenes, the one shot where you see a close up of Forrests glove you can see the wrinkles in the leather and the letters NSAC on the tape if that is game play then OMG that would be amazing.

  2. Amir says:

Wow…this is stunning, they even captured the details of the cutman and Rampage’s trainer…I have to say that this is an area I have complete confidance in Dana White’s pursuit of perfection and quality in the UFC brand!!!

    • R.J. St.Croix says:

yeah i though that was cool too, Juanito and Stitch look just about perfect. it looks soooo good you can see the buttons on Yamasakis shirt, the hair on Forrests chest, camera man in the background, wrinkles, sweat, veins, and textures these things wont make the game great by them selves but it will make the game very realistic as far as look goes and that helps with the immersion of the game. look at Fight Night Round 3, part of the reason that game is awesome is because it looks so realistic and that make you get into the game so much more. and the thing with Dana making sure the game will perfect is more then ok with me, i will wait as long as it takes to make sure this game ends up being the best game they can make.

  3. MMAKansas says:

I know why it’s taken so long now.. quality doesn’t happen over night.. I can see MMA surpassing other sports in the future.. it is the new Gladiator sport.. you know it was never teams, it was always down to the greatest among warriors…

  4. R.J. St.Croix says:

here is a thought about the game, i think it would be cool as hell if they put a PRIDE ring in the game. they dont have to add anymore fighters or anything major they can just put it as an unlockable in quickplay mode or in career training mode you know. what are some things you guys would want in the game fighters, venues, sponsors, game modes whatever?

    • MMAKansas says:

Dude you should work for the manufacturers of this game.. that is the best idea yet.. or maybe unlock the “Hall of Fame” fighters as you get through levels.. making Royce like super hard to beat, and a “Young” Ken Shamrock… ect. . cool..

      • bvrasp says:

unlocking fighters is gonna be in there 100%. In sudden impact you could also unlock guys like, Big John, Bruce Buffer, Frank Fertita, Dana White and Mask (from the tapout crew).

        • R.J. St.Croix says:

i wouldnt doubt if they made it so you can only use half of the fighter in the start and you have to unlock more as you go on, a lot of games are like this (Fight Night R3 is one of them) it gives more reason to keep playing the game if you can only use lower level fighters to start off with. like if you and your buddy wanna have Chuck vs. Wand you will have to work your way up and beat them in career mode first. also have the game start with only the Hardrock cafe as your venue and eventually unlock the O2 arena, MGM Grand, and the Bell center. also a president mode would be cool (like EA’s hockey games) where you have to make matches, decide concession prices, negotiate contracts, and try to get the biggest live gate and most p.p.v. buys.

      • R.J. St.Croix says:

lol i have a ton of ideas on how to make a great game its just to bad i would never be anywhere near smart enough to actually make a video game lol. my two favorite past times is MMA and video games so its not hard at all for me to get hyped about this thing lol.

        • bvrasp says:

RJ as you know, games are never as good as they could be, theyre as they can do in the time they have. Theyre taking over 2 years on this game, so they are investing alot into it, but as far as development time goes, 2 years isnt very long.

I remember years back when they were trying to make the perfect RPG game using player input and suggestions. It ended up being like 6 years before the game was finished! by that time, the graphics were out of date, the engine was obsolete and there were so many better things on the horizon.

In the end the game flopped and the dev. company went under.

        • R.J. St.Croix says:

yeah no doubt, no matter how good a game is there is always something they could have done better. im not all that hard to please anyways, contrary to popular opinion i did like the old UFC games. me and my buddy played Tapout 2 so much we got to the point we turn off time limits and rounds and we would have like hour long fights and for most of the fight nether of us had any power left and it would come down to who made the first mistake lol. Marco Ruas fought Kevin Randleman for an hour and forty minutes one time only to have Ruas KO Randleman with a jab, now thats MMA lol.

        • bvrasp says:

im with you 100% bro, i loved the old mma games too, Pride was good, UFC sudden impact on ps 2 was definately the best.

an hour 40 min?? lol thats ridiculous man, i would have submitted your *** long time ago hehe.

        • R.J. St.Croix says:

no way man submissions were damn near impossible we were both way to good at reversals lol the only reason we ever hit the ground was in hopes of catching him with some ground’n'pound but even that get reversed a lot lol

        • bvrasp says:

There were a few holds that when you reverse it the opponent is forced to give up his back. I think it was the scarf hold and one of the leglocks.

I know you mean though about reversing submissions back and forth hehe thats the most fun part where it gets hectic, but an hour 40 min? lol nah man i never had a match for more than 10 min tops.

  5. R.J. St.Croix says:

i like the one idea i heard about starting your career mode on TUF and earning a contract and working your way up from there. i would like to see you be able to pick your sponsors, have your fighter come to the octagon wearing Sprawl shorts with a Condom Depot logo on the asss and a Tapout shirt with a Xyiance logo on the back you know that sort of thing.

  6. I can’t wait for the game to come out . I hope it comes out in 08 instead of Spring 09. Because I’m going to kick some *** online with Chuck Liddell or Quinton Rampage Jackson and or Forrest Griffen. Because I’m the best gamer in the world. I would knockout and make anyone tapout

  7. I hope the story mode is not like ufc sudden impact because that was *** as hell. I hope we can go through story mode and have to win 5 fights in a rowe and then tournament and the get a title shot in that weight class

  8. I think Forrest Griffen could ko Quinton Rampage Jackson.Do any of you think Kimbo Slice could ko Brock Lesnar.

  9. I wonder who will be the most feird striker will be in the game. I think it will be either Chuck theiceman Liddell or Quinton Rampage Jackson or Randy Couture

  10. I wonder is the best striker will be I think It will be Chuck Liddell or Quinton Rampage Jackson or Micheal Bisbing

  11. R.J. St.Croix says:

well from what i seen on the show the game looks awesome. we’ve seen trailers with Chuck Liddell, Rampage, and Forrest but they showed Ben Saunders, Warmachine, Kongo, and Jake O’Brian being scanned and photoed for the game, also Dana White said there is going to be 80 fighters in the game. the bad news is they dont plan to release it till spring 2009, oh well at least that gives me enough time to figure out how to get my Xbox live account back up and running lol.

    • bvrasp says:

Ya i watched it too RJ, it looked great, but still being in the early stages it will look even better when its finally done. Not the graphics ofcourse but the framerates, theyre always better in the end than in demos.

Something i noticed which impressed me was at one point forrest was in half guard. The different positions is probably gonna be the most important part of the game ofcourse each position with its own set of standard moves, then specific moves for individual fighters.

Like in sudden impact these were the positions.

      standing
      mount (top and bottom)
      backmount (top and bottom)
      guard (top and bottom)
against the cage (standing and on the mat)

      ——-

I wanna see all these positions back in the game, AND MORE. So far it looks like they added halfguard which is great. I wonder if there will be different types of guard aswell? spider, butterfly, rubber, etc.. Then maybe side mount and north south position?

      • R.J. St.Croix says:

yeah i noticed the frame rate thing to it was still a bit choppy, but it works at least. it looked like you have a lot more control of positions like it shows Forrest throwing up an armbar and Rampage picks him up and slams him, and a bunch of movements and counters on the ground like Rampage trying to worm his lag out of half guard and Forrest pushing him back down. like you said butterflies and rubber guards would be awesome along with a full range of clinch positions (over/under, pummeling, thai plumb, whizzers) would make the grappling aspect just about perfect. also a full striking game too, i wanna see leg kicks, head kicks, front kicks, body punches, inside elbows, superman punches, dirty boxing, you know the whole bit.

        • bvrasp says:

it be crazy if they had all those clinch positions, i hope there is atleast 1 clinch position this time around, because its a very common position so i dont know why they never implemented it in the previous games.

The striking is gonna be there for sure, like all the previous games, i think thats the easy part hehe.

        • R.J. St.Croix says:

yeah man a clinch game could be a very big selling point, imagine fighting for underhooks and your opponent leaves him self open and you tag him with a nice inside elbow and drop him. with the use of the shoulder buttons combined with the sticks there is so many possibilities eg. hold left trigger and use right stick to fight for hooks and hold right trigger and the right stick to use your legs for a trip, or in the clinch hold left bumper and right stick for for short elbows and punches and right bumper for knees. same idea for the ground work, different buttons held plus moving a stick to get different result. that also frees up the A,B,X, and Y buttons for things like blocking, grabbing, ducking, and stance. man i gotta stop speculating about how this game will be or else i might end up disappointed when the game comes out lol.

    • I wached gttv also and that game was great as hell. They said that Tito Ortiz might not be in the game but I hope he is so I can kick his *** with TheIceman. For all we know they might release it sooner than 09 and might release it in 08.Because the have been working on it since 2007 and plus they have just about all the fighters scanned

      • R.J. St.Croix says:

i would say dont get your hopes up on Tito being in the game and also dont get your hopes up on an 08 release ether. Dana would not say next year if they could do it this year, having character models done and having a demo engine done doesnt put the game on store shelves just yet.

  12. MMAKansas says:

Wonder if they will have the “Axe Murderer”..

  13. bvrasp says:

From what ive read about THQ, they released 23 games last year and about 20 the year before. They have about 2000 employees (EA has over 7000), but they are also working on alot of BIG games at the same time.

Like Saints Row 2: coming out late this year, they say oct 14 but who knows. DAAAM this looks nuts man, they really gunning for GTA with this series. If you like these games, i suggest you check some of the videos of this, theres a bunch of them. They even copied the Bas Rutten cameo in GTA, but theyre using Gary Busey lol. Hes no Bas.. but hes definately nutty. Heres a feature for you, custom taunts for your character, there one clip of him tea bagging a cop lol.

Thanks for stopping by VideoGameHQ hehe
