ok guys, who watched Melendez vs Thompson? 2 words, complete domination, 5 rounds to zero! i couldnt see the decision go any other way..

did you watch this /\ episode of MMA live yet? im really liking the MMA for dummies segment they do. its a good show and it is going to help educate the masses about MMA (if they watch) but it is a step in the right direction. and on the subject of exposure, there is a magazine called Chill that you get free at the BeerStore (yes it called the BeerStore, for my non Canadian brothers) and this book is usually dedicated to backyard bar-b-q’s adn golf, but the June/July issue has a big three page in depth expose-eh (lol) on GSP call Canada’s favorite son. the BeerStore at the end of my street has probably a thousand of customers every day and 70% of them have a Chill mag under there are on the way out, these are good things for the sport of MMA.

ya i watched it RJ, the thing is, byt the time the show comes out at the end of the week, we already know all the news and weve already discussed it. To me the best part is KenFlo, i like to hear his predictions and his post fight opinion. I dont know why that guy Franklin is there.. who is that guy? to me he seems like a generic sports guy.

Fighters and coaches man, thats who they should have, thats who they should talk to and interview, these are the guys who know whats up.

The beer store hehe, americans have that too, its called a convenience store or a grocery store.

yeah the first time i went into a corner store in the US (Flint, Mich.) i almost sh*t my self lol, i have a friend from Australia and he was sooo impressed that we have “the BeerStore” that he went in and bought a uniform to take home with him lol.

Anyone watch K1?? i did, now i remember why i stopped watching it, its just not MMA. The strikeforce card wasnt enough to satisfy my craving for the weekend.. sigh.. oh well atleast we have next weekend to look forward to!

    • R.J. St.Croix says:

the last time i watched any K-1 was the last WGP and i just couldnt get into it, like you said its just not MMA. there is just something missing from the other combat sports. i cant sit down and watch a boxing match any more, i used to love watching boxing when you had two guys very evenly matched and it was a 12 round war and i liked to see how one could out point another, now if i try to sit and watch a boxing match no matter how good it is im asleep by round three.

      • bvrasp says:

Ya thats exactly how i feel about it RJ, i mean, i figured Schilt vs LeBanner ya i could enjoy that. But i was wrong man.. Boxing, same thing, it just seems pointless now.

Same thing with other sports too! i cant watch anything but MMA man lol. Basketball is just back and forth point for point, oh reverse jam… yay…

wow… i was just looking at the UFC website and in the event section they have 5 events listed. thats great, i remember a few years ago checking it a week before a fight and they were still showing the details for the last event. when i first came across this website awhile back i was still under the impression that no one was talking or caring about MMA on the internet so i didnt really use my computer for the most part, now that i have people to talk to about it, its makes it that much more fun to be a fan and it really good to see MMA getting to the point where people i work with know about it and wanna talk about, although its still a bit frustrating when you say to someone “are you getting the Affliction card?” and they say “what the hell is that?” and i say “it has Fedor Emelianenko vs. Tim Sylvia” and they say “who the hell is Fedor?” and i say “just the best heavy weight to ever fight” and they say “if hes so good why doesnt fight in the UFC? and Tim wasnt even good enough to stay in the UFC.” oh well at least it give me the chance to educate people about fighters and orgs they dont know about, i have handed out countless PRIDEFC, Pancrese, and Bushido videos to people just to show them another side to MMA and they always come back asking if i have more they can watch. these are good times my friends, soak it up we are in the middle of this explosion.
