so who watched the UFC 86 presser?? Records are already being made! Dana spoke for 1:30 and he didnt swear! lol

    • R.J. St.Croix says:

no i didnt see it yet, is it on the UFC site?

      • bvrasp says:

ya its up but as a whole bunch of little clips, i prefer having one file and just watch through it, even the boring parts since it all interests me.. Just like the weigh ins, i always like to watch the whole thing not just clips of staredowns..

        • R.J. St.Croix says:

yeah man, i went and watched the clips but like you said i wish they had the whole thing. im a big time MMA nerd when it comes to this stuff man, i go to sleep at night listening to MMA DVDs and i pick out things the cornermen, fighters, and commentary are saying lol. man i live a sad life lol.

        • bvrasp says:

that makes 2 of us lol. I hope we get a weigh in today, i really hate when they dont end up showing the weigh ins.. what else am i supposed to do on friday before fight night? lol

        • bvrasp says:

Well looks like the weighin will be at 7 pm Eastern time.. dam, that seems kinda late doesnt it? theyre usually on earlier..

        • R.J. St.Croix says:

no doubt, it says on the UFC site the weight-ins are gonna be shown at 7:00pm/EST tonight so the might get them up by noon tomorrow lol

        • R.J. St.Croix says:

UFC 83 was a 7:00pm, but they’ve had them lot of times at noon i though. unless that was Cali?

        • bvrasp says:

by the way RJ, that fight we were tlaking about was Lawler vs Lytle.. dam what a fight! heh

        • R.J. St.Croix says:

lol Lawler/Lytle yeah ok, im gonna go see if i can find it. its worth watching a few more times.

  2. bvrasp says:

Doc, when you say this is the final event for Season 3 on the playground, does that mean our points and money will be reset back to the default amounts after this??

  3. R.J. St.Croix says:

for all my brothers that wanna see the whole presser:
    http://videos.mmaweekly.com/view_player.php?id=2621
it doesnt have a lot more then the one shown on the UFC site but at least its the whole thing.

  4. R.J. St.Croix says:

man i gotta stop watching all these hype up videos i can wait for the fight now. Forrest sparing with Wanderlei, Rampage sparing with Kongo, this is going to be a good fight man!

  5. bvrasp says:

3 million at the gate, 12000 people, thats 250 a ticket. The skydome here in toronto seats almost 70K at 250 each were talking 17.5 mil. Im sure they would sell it out man, if not in the first day! i mean they sell out those lame *** wrestlemania events….

If they did that maybe the fighters could start getting paid what they deserve.. im sure there alot of other big arenas around canada and the US that could accomodate them too.

    • R.J. St.Croix says:

the Saddledome would be the same thing, they love MMA out west too. then maybe they could start filling big stadiums all over.

      • bvrasp says:

i think the market is there man.. and even if they had half capacity, your looking at almost 9 million, like triple what theyre selling now.. They really have to grease some political palms and open up toronto and newyork, they should be in every major city man. Thats where the people are, thats where the money is..

        • R.J. St.Croix says:

the problem with MMA in T.O. and Ontario is that **** Hayashi, f*ckin b*tch dont like MMA so we all gotta just deal with it, f*ckin punk.

        • bvrasp says:

thats why i hate politics man, votes mean nothing when your candidates are a giant douche, or a sht sandwich hehe.

This clown doesnt represent me, just cuz HE doesnt like MMA means nobody can watch it? pissed me off..

      • R.J. St.Croix says:

Chase Field (where the Arizona Diamondbacks play) has an average attendance of just over 39,000/per game and the stadium holds just over 49,000. if they can fill that place up once or twice a week for BASEBALL for damn near the same price as UFC tickets i think they can full something the same size or bigger once or twice a year for MMA.

        • bvrasp says:

i dunno about certain stadiums, like football or something cuz their outdoor an everything.. but anywhere you can have basketball, you can have MMA. Indoor with the jumbotron or whatever

        • R.J. St.Croix says:

outdoor is cool in places like Arizona because weather is not a big factor and they do it at night so the sun wont be an issue, imagine hearing Goldy say “coverage from our skycam aboard the Goodyear blimp” now thats big time.

        • bvrasp says:

I dont think they can do outdoor events, just on a small scale like they did in Iraq or soemthing like that. Without some kind of giant TV set for people in the nosebleed section the cage will just be like a dot lol.

        • R.J. St.Croix says:

yeah i guess doing an outdoor show presents a few unnecessary problems you could avoid by just having an indoor show.

  6. R.J. St.Croix says:

well its 7:55pm and all i can find is the weight in results in written form. damn it UFC, Zuffa, Dana, who ever i want a show! gimmie a show on SPIKE TV put it on at 7:00pm/EST make a really big deal about it, hype the fight up, show clips from earlier fights, sh*t man it not rocket science, people will watch.

    • bvrasp says:

Im feeling that same frustration over here, i been checking ti every 20 min or so… They usually have those countdown to UFC shows or whatever.. I dont know how many people would watch the weighins on tv, except hardcore MMA fans, like us.. I guess its ok for it to be streamed online, but we dont even get THAT all the time.

      • R.J. St.Croix says:

gawd im so board waiting for tomorrow im sitting here reading the last years worth of medical reports from all the MMA shows in Nevada lol man i need a hobby lol.

  7. bvrasp says:

Heres what i noticed in the weigh-ins..

Coreys carved out of wood man he looks like a comic book character or soemthing, his opponents trying to stand on his toes lol.

Melvin decided to dress like a ring girl this time out, but topless, maybe Arianny could follow suit next time. hehe

Lots of love for Gonzaga from the fans atleast, the UFC kind of decided to bury him for a while.

Aurelio took a while to strip down and played a little amateur handball on the way to the scale lol.

Kos got booed, is it just me or is he starting to look like hulk hogan when he was a bad guy? with the blond hair an black stubble..

Rampage getting booed?? whaaaat? if there ever was a peoples champion, Rampage is that guy. ooooooohh no shake after the staredown LOL its on baby..

    • R.J. St.Croix says:

yeah the stare down between Rampage and Forrest was good, Forrest wasnt expecting Rampage to snuggle up close (might have been the green panties lol) they both look ready, Rampage looks intense and Forrest looks big. it gonna be a good one, im hope for a full on war.

the Kos-a-maniacs were not running wild at that weight-in for sure, he should have warn the red bandanna and ripped his shirt off, no one is down with the evil Kos-a-mania lol.

thankfully i didnt notice Aurelios ball handling skill, but he does look like someone you might catch in a bush outside your window lol.

i half expected Melvin to start running his mouth and pushing people around but he was actually cool. and your right Melvin and Arianny should have exchanged there wardrobe backstage before the weight-ins, we’ll send them an email so they can fix it next time lol.

when Cory Hill came up on the stage i was like “hey doesnt that guy play in the NBA?” i hope Cory learned how to fight without ducking the guy is like 6’6″ but he ducks down to about 5’9″ when hes fighting for some reason.

and last but not least Jorge Gurgels hair looked f*cking fabulous, im giving it two snaps straight up and down.

  8. bvrasp says:

i was just watching some videos, dam Forrest is in way better shape than Rampage. Saw Rampage shadowboxing for like 2 min an he was already breathing a little heavy when he sat down for the interview.

Forrest was showing off his footwork and his jump rope routine for atleast 10 min, then he started hitting the mitts which lasted for like another 10 min. When Forrest sat down for the interview he worked up a nice sweat but he wasnt breathing heavy like Rampage was.

Got a bad feeling about this man..

    • R.J. St.Croix says:

finally someone says something lol ive been waiting all day for someone to write something and i didnt want to be first AGAIN lol, anyways about Rampage/Forrest i think Forrest really wants this man and its a lot easier to overlook someone when you are the champ. Rampage know Forrest has to come in and beat him, we already know if Rampage has enough to wear the belt it Forrest that need to prove his worth, he came ready to show the world when he fought Shogun and this one is even more important.

      • bvrasp says:

If it gets past the 3rd round i think Rampage is in trouble because i cant already tell Forrest is in way better shape.

But Rampage said its not going to the cards, and if he comes out blazing i dunno if Forrest can weather the storm against Rampage. Hes tough, but if its a 1st round bumrush, Forrest better go on the offense instead of trying to just survive. If Rampage get in a dominant position lie side mount or something early in the fight, Forrest is in deep trouble.

Man i hope Rampage wins this fight..

        • R.J. St.Croix says:

yeah man if Rampage comes in like Houston Alexander Forrest could be in trouble, but anything less then full tilt and Forrests heart and drive will get him through.

  9. bvrasp says:

How bout Juanito sayin hes gonna retire if Forrest wins, isnt thata bit much man? i mean its a fight anything can happen.. and stranger things have happened, i jus dont understand why he would even say that. Is it an ego thing or something? because its a bit disrespectful to the opponent i think..

    • R.J. St.Croix says:

yeah i think hes just trying to show confidence in his fighter, i bet he doesnt retire if Forrest does win. it is a bit disrespectful to Forrest but we’ve all seen WAY worse in fight hypes. i wonder if Juanito is just saying it or if he really believes Forrest no chance what so ever.

      • bvrasp says:

ya it shows confidence, but it seems kinda of to me.. Like what if Forrest said he would retire if he lost, or Rampage, or if they both said it lol. Its just ridiculous, lets just have a fight without people sayin they will retire if they lose.

Like if were talking about Shamrock or someone who says that it makes sense because they should retire anyways.. but Juanito? no reason for him to say that..

  10. MMAKansas says:

I don’t think Forrest has much power behind his strikes..how many devastating TKO’S or KO’S has he dealt? Is he known for finishing opponents? Heck no.. he is known for good cardio.. TUF1/BONNER.. and his “heart”.. no doubt he has all, an if he can keep Jackson in line with his game plan, go outside and win on striking points all will be well, if it comes to an all out fight/war.. hmmm I question him being able to take the title.. as for all the other drama surrounding this, its not the end of the world for either fighter regardless.. I think Forrest will stay around for a long time.. Jackson too..

  11. MMAKansas says:

Jackson on the other hand.. I can see winning much more than Forrest.. he has power, knockout power.. and he has shown the ability to take on both an enormously great grappler and an enormously infamous striker… so what does Forrest have that Hendo and Liddell don’t? yeah.. thats IS the question here… Jackson wins this one boys sorry…

  12. MMAKansas says:

And no i didn’t go to playground, i just got back from a B&B with the wife and there was no internet there.. nothing.. i drove almost 5 hours today to get back in time so I could go to the fights.. skipped the last night of a getaway weekend.. lol

    • R.J. St.Croix says:

wholy flerkin shnit he returns, it good to see you back Mr.Sassy pants lol. yeah i agree with you to a point Forrest doesnt pose a big threat in any one spot for Rampage, i just have this feeling Rampage is going to have an off night and Forrest will have a good night. 6 weeks ago Rampage was 240lbs. and being lazy (so says Juanito) but i’ll bet Forrest was still busting his asss in the gym.

      • MMAKansas says:

I don’t know man.. Forrest was complaining about hitting a plateu or “ceiling” in his training, which tells me from personal experience that he was and has been over training to the point of fatigue and muscle strain.. it can weigh on you mentally as well.. you can develop an “I DON’T GIVE A SHNITE WHAT GOES DOWN” attitude over time.. I think Forrest is gonna get pumped right before the fight begins but cardio wont win it and right now that’s what Forrest has is cardio.. and a good reach…

  13. R.J. St.Croix says:

is anyone else having a problem getting the pay per view? i ordered mine this afternoon and about two and a half minutes before it started it went to a screen that said “we are unable to process your PPV event” and gave a number to call and when we called it said “we are experiencing a high volume of calls” and we’ve been on hold ever since. im guessing im not the only one having this issue based on the high volume calls thing, im just wondering if any of you guys are have problems?

  14. R.J. St.Croix says:

i ended up getting my p.p.v. to work at the start of the Stevenson/Tibau fight so i did get to see the show, and now im going to gloat….. Forrest vs. Rampage…… i told you so, i called it to a T. now that i got the Gatties outta me, wow that was a good fight man!

  15. MMAKansas says:

    spoiler comment…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………
48-46, 48-46, 49-46 ???? douchebag judges.. at best it was a split decision for Forrest… I would have given it to Jackson 49-48 across the board with maybe 2 rounds in Griffins favor and the rest to Jackson.. whatever… so Forrest gets it and what? He gets knocked out by Chuck in round 1 and then its back to Chuck and Wandy? Geesh…

    • R.J. St.Croix says:

for real? ah man i had Forrest win 4 rounds to 1 but i could totally see someone calling it 3 rounds to 2, but Rampage winning? i dont know about that.

  16. bvrasp says:

Well ill be a son of a *****… he did it man… Dam i thought it was gonna be over in the 1st round with that uppercut! goddam that was a serious war man.

I gotta disagree with you Kansas, I think Forrest won that fight 3 rounds to 2. The thing is, with the exception fot he leg kicks, Rampage was hitting Forrest much harder but Forrest landed more shots including jabs.

  17. MMAKansas says:

I really think Forrest has to fight Machida at this point… not Wand or Chuck, they have both had multiple losses in the last year, and Chuck was named most disappointing fighter by most of the fans on here, Wand was like #5 or 8 on that list I don’t remember but I know that Forrest ducked Machida before and it will be hard to do that now.

I can see Forrest winning too, guys it went to the cards so its subject to opinion.. but hey I won’t argue, point is that Forrest is the champ now, which is somewhat neat, I mean he does have a Jack Dempsy’ness about him so its cool, but he doesn’t have knockout power so you know he will win by technical skill and game plan, if there is a knockout in a Forrest Griffin title fight in the future, it will be Forrest getting knocked out, hopefully by my boy Wand .. hehe
