According to entertainment website TMZ.com, former UFC light heavyweight champion Quinton Jackson was arrested earlier this afternoon in California after a traffic incident.

According to the TMZ report, Jackson was involved in a car accident near Newport Beach, CA and fled the scene. Jackson was reportedly charged with a felony hit and run and felony evading arrest.

Photo’s posted on TMZ.com show Jackson being ordered from his car at gun point by several police officers and restrained face down on the ground. Jackson was processed at an Orange County jail and a bail of $25,000 was set.

MMAJunkie.com is reporting that the Costa Mesa Police department says Jackson hit several cars during a short police chase this afternoon. “Rampage” eventually pulled over and surrendered to the police.

According to Kevin Iole, neither UFC President Dana White nor Jackson’s trainer Juanito Ibarra were available for comment. Iole’s says that Dana White flew to Orange County upon hearing of the arrest to post bail for the UFC star. Not sure the truth to that rumor, especially considering the fact that a few paragraph’s up, Iole said White declined to comment on the situation.

glad you posted this up Doc, the picture of Rampage on his belly with a gun pointed at his head speaks volumes.

  2. MMAKansas says:

speaks volumes? whatever, its called CCM standard procedures, with all suspects..

Rampage probably joked with the cops that booked him..

  3. MMAKansas says:

I like the top photo of the two cops pointing weapons at Rampages picture on the truck.. they look like functionally retarded cops… lol kidding

    • R.J. St.Croix says:

lmao when i seen that pic i was thinking about the cops yelling at the picture on the side of the truck “get the f*ck down now! get down! alright were gonna need some backup, HQ we have a huge shirtless blackman wearing a chain and staring off at nothing, refusing to comply, please send more units! he may be on PCP!” LOL. for real though thats really f*cked up that Rampage would be involved in a situation like that, what makes someone think they can make a clean get away when they have A GIANT PICTURE OF THEMSELVES ON THE SIDE!!! jeez Rampage i figured you were a least a bit smarter then that.

  4. R.J. St.Croix says:

well at least Boost mobile, Toyo tires, and the UFC are getting some free advertising lol.

  5. Maxx says:

I just don’t get it. There is definitely another side to this story. What could he have been possibly thinking. Jackson is overall a pretty easy going guy, I mean during his entire career and public appearances he’s never done anything remotely close to this. I’d expect this from some of the retarded TUF kids, but not rampage…..unreal.

    • R.J. St.Croix says:

yeah it seems a bit odd, all of a sudden Rampage is a “real” badasss? it not like what ever he did wrong Dana and the bros. werent going to help him fix it. now he just made his problems worse, and not just with the law people are obviously talking about this and even if he did the smallest thing you can bet your asss people are blowing it out of proportion as we speak.

      • MMAKansas says:

Remember Chuck and the morning show without sleep on cold meds vid????

Now imagine a legit felony issue .. lol whoa..

        • MMAKansas says:

I mentioned in a different post several hours ago when I saw this on another site that I think Rampage is mad he got robbed last week and he is trying to get out of his contract by getting in trouble therefore bringing reproach on the UFC (payback) notice he was in his UFC sponsors all over it Ford Truck at the time.. lol and he can go work for Affliction making twice as much, with almost no competition right now… think about it

        • R.J. St.Croix says:

yeah it seems like you have to suck real bad (at fighting or popularity) or do something really stupid to get out of a Zuffa contract these days lol

        • bvrasp says:

i dunno Kansas, i dont think he smashed into other cars on purpose. What if he killed someone? forget about contracts.. hes be lifting weights in the penn. Its an interesting theory, but i seriously doubt that was planned.

        • MMAKansas says:

I dunno.. just a theory amigos… solely based on my warped reverse put yourself in their shoes thinking.. ;)

  6. Maxx says:

They’re saying drugs or alcohol were not involved. So the dude was stone cold sober. There are only a few of reasons someone would do this. I think maybe he had a mental breakdown, I’ve seen that happen to people…they lose their damn mind for awhile. I had friend who had a metal breakdown and there was a whole day he doesn’t even remember. That’s my theory. I like Rampage a lot, and whatever the cause, it’s not good…and I hope he gets the help he needs. He owes (MMA fans) us all an apology. Quinton is supposed to be one of the good guys.

    • R.J. St.Croix says:

yeah man this one is hard to wrap your head around, and i’ll bet Rampage WILL apologize to his fans. i dont think this is going to be a big deal in a few days and the people surrounding Rampage and the UFC are going to try and downplay it as much as possible, my guess is we will read in a day or two that Rampages people are saying “Rampage is going through a rough time right now and appreciates your support and apologizes for any problems he caused, he would like to be left alone to be with his family now” or something to that effect.

      • MMKansas says:

Hope he doesn’t come out with his lip pursed and his stare serious and say….. “I did NOT have driving discourse with other cars” simulating Bill with Monica… lol

  8. TapouT says:

he was bailed out for 25,000 after a night in jail
dana flew out and was suppose to bail him out..but nobody knows if he did

  9. MMAKansas says:

    You get my reply patrick?

  10. MAD says:

Crazy Rampage! Who knows whats going through his mind lately after losing the belt but this is a little much.

  11. Mike says:

If you watched the ultimate fighter Rampage mentioned on there the he was having trouble controling himself. That the “rampage” was starting to take control. I think maybe he just snapped. Being an MMA fighter myself and about the same age as Mr. Jackson I know that at times the inner pitbull really wants to take over and can at times be hard to control. I hope he regains control soon, he is one of the best in the world and I look forward to seeing him fight again.

    Mike

    • R.J. St.Croix says:

i dont think it just fighters who get the urge to go off once in awhile, its in everyone but its your self control (or lack of) that dictates your everyday demeanor. Rampage needs to get a grip on his own mind and realize getting your self locked up will solve nothing, unless he enjoys showering with other men and being told what to do all day.
