While there has been some recent speculation regarding who Ben Rothwell’s opponent at Affliction: Day of Reckoning would be, Affliction VP Tom Atencio has confirmed Rothwell will be fighting Pedro Rizzo.

Both Rothwell and Rizzo fought and lost on the initial Affliction: Banned fight card. Rothwell had a three round battle with Andrei Arlovksi, while Rizzo lost in the second round to Josh Barnett via KO.

Affliction: Day of Reckoning will take place October 11 in Las Vegas, NV and be the second Affliction fight card. The even will be headlined by a heavyweight match between Josh Barnett and Andrei Arlovkski.

Dana just went down another notch in my book after some comments he made.

“He’s not the best pound-for-pound fighter, not even close, but he’s one of the four or five best heavyweights”

    - ofcourse hes talking about Fedor, hes always hated on Fedor, i wonder what Dana would have to say if he signed Fedor to the UFC? hmm..

“But we all have to thank him for getting rid of Tim Sylvia. He’d been stinking out the joint the last couple of years and Fedor did everyone a favor by beating him so easily and getting rid of him.”

    - wow, the minute Tim leaves the UFC, Dana totally flip flops on him with this insulting comment.

Dana white is such a cry baby sore loser man, i dont know why this douche is the President of the UFC. They should get some kind of a front man whos more professional and knows about PR. Dana should fall back and just be a business man who plays his part behind the scenes, im really sick of his BS..

Doc, you seen Randys latest comment about his fight with Fedor? he feels that he should be getting 6-12 million for the fight. Seriously man, he knows nobody can pay that much, i dont see the reason for him making that remark. If hes firm about those kind of numbers we probably wont ever see that fight happen either.

Imagine they tried to setup a rematch with Randy and Tito! LOL, both those guys are seriously losing it man.

Yeah, I saw Randy’s comments. While I agree that he probably deserves 6 mil for the fight, we all know (including Randy) that he will never get it. I think Randy would take the fight for 1 – 2 million which he should get for it.

Tito is a whole other story. Tito is probably only worth about 100k right now to any organization, even the UFC so he’s going to have a hard time signing on with a promotion for a base salary in the millions.

I like the Rothwell-Rizzo matchup. I think that Rizzo will end up being a better opponent for Rothwell than Arlovski was. Arlovski seemed very focused during their match last month, and a focused Arlovski is almost impossible to beat.

  4. bvrasp says:

Dam, more disrespectful comments from Hughes. Hes really making it hard on us Hughes fans because he consistantly disrespects other fighters.

He said that he only went to UFC 87 to see Lesnar and the GSP Fitch match was so boring he left the stadium by the 3rd round.

i mean.. wow.. thats just ridiculous, i swear, sometimes hes worse than Shamrock and Tito.. It be nice if he just held his tongue, beat Serra and get inducted into the hall of fame.
