Affliction Vice President Tom Attencio has confirmed that current WAMMA heavyweight champion Fedor Emelianenko and Andrei Arlovski will fight on the next Affliction fight card.
Affliction: Day of Reckoning was originally scheduled to take place October 11 in Las Vegas, NV but was postponed until January of 2009. The main event was originally slated to be a number one contender match between Josh Barnett and Arlovski but that fight is no longer scheduled. Instead, Arlovski will get the jump and challenge Fedor for the title after defeating Roy Nelson at the recent EliteXC: Heat event.
It is unknown at this time whether or not Barnett will still appear on the “Day of Reckoning” fight card.

this is a fight ive been waiting for, for quite a while now. im not really sure how Arlovski is going to be able to beat Fedor, but he probably stands a better chance then most anyone else.
i think its gonna end with a fedor ko-ing arlovski,he doesnt have the best chin.Now who has the best chance of beating fedor?i think barnett,but why isnt that fight happening?
i think people are gonna be surprised if Barnett ever fights Fedor, by that i mean Fedor is going to make Barnett look like an amateur. Fedor is good at exposing holes in your game and Barnett is a lot more sloppy then people give him credit for.
Ya this is a real head scratcher for Arlovski, though i think the striking is his only chance to beat Fedor. Hes not submitting Fedor and hes not gonna lay on top of Fedor for 25 min or however long the fight ends up being.
So with the striking theres that small chance that he could clip Fedor then pounce on him with GnP, or dance around and try to win on points like Machida.
I hope something happens for Dre and ill be cheering for him, but i think Fedors gonna finish him with strikes on the ground. Considering Arlovskis never been submitted i doubt Fedor will even bother wasting the energy to try.
Hmm.. Goran Reljic is off the UFC 90 card, he was supposed to fight Thales Leites, i was looking forward to that fight. I like Leites and ive become a Reljic fan very quickly, that guys just a beast, oh well. I wonder who theyll get to fight Leites now..

Man, its been a while since we got to see a high caliber MMA event.. Now we got 2 UFC events back to back coming up. Not the greatest of fights, but some pretty good matches compared to watching Kimbo fights lol.
yeah i dont care much about who is fighting as opposed to how they perform, like Bisping vs. Leben, not a huge drawing power type fight but it should be fun to watch.

When you think about it, Anderson was the only guy to ever KO Leben and hes the best in the world at MW. im reading rumors lately about the next season of TUF (like i should be worrying about next season already lol) that they are going to do a US vs. UK one with Bisping as one coach and Dan Henderson as the other coach. im kinda hoping to see it happen. i would like to see them do one for Canada.
