Continuing the ProElite saga, GracieFighter.com is reporting that EliteXC representatives have notified most of the fighters under contract that they are planning on holding events in 2009. Kind of a strange notion considering the company closed its doors and ceased operations two weeks back. According to the report, EliteXC claims they did not file for bankruptcy but rather severely scaled down their staff.

Sam Caplan speculates that EliteXC may simply be trying to protect what few remaining assets they have in an attempt to recover some of their outstanding debt. Several of EliteXC’s top fighters, including Robbie Lawler and Nick Diaz, recently filed breach-of-contract lawsuits against ProElite seeking to get out of their contracts which would free them to fight elsewhere. Caplan contends that EliteXC is trying to keep their fighters under contract and will attempt to sell off those contract assets.

Has ProElite found some new, miracle funding source and will they, in fact, resume holding events in 2009? Only time will tell, but I for one don’t believe it.

hehe yea man Python was great. I performed a bunch of the sketches for drama class in highschool, was nice cuz me and my buddy already knew the lines by heart.

The only brit comedy i lied better than Python was Black Adder, probably the funniest show ever before Rowan Atkinson went the way of baffoonery with Mr. Bean.
