This is one of the best video’s I’ve seen in a while. Pure comedy. I especially like the “choke defense” technique at the 4:20 mark.

  1. This was such a great learning tool! Now I will feel so much safer when walking in a dark alley.

“im a smoker, a lot of people are smokers.” lol these sort of videos always make me wonder how many of these techniques have been tried in REAL situations, like sticking your finger in someones clavicle, im sure if someone tried that on me it would work awesome right up until i start punching there face into a bloody mess lol. most of the time in a street fight its the good old fashion sucker punch that win the fight.
p.s. note to self, dont ever choke a nerd because he might drop to his knees and speedbag my sack LOL.

RJ the funny thing is, most of those are real karate style self defense moves. The one you mentioned was actually kind of a choke, i learned that as an escape from the mount position. The instinct reaction of the victim is to drop the chin and be forced backward, so you can generate some space that way to reverse him. If your standing up the choke aspect is useless, but if your that close you can wrap your hand almost completely around the collar bone and dislocate it or use it in a throw.

It reminded me of this blackbelt japanese dude in my dojo, he used to go really hard and he threw me like that. We were just kind of grappling so there were no gloves so strikes were allowed, but i guess in that moment i could have hooked him but it was so fast i didnt have my weight under me for it to have hurt him too bad. The end result was me on my back with him in the ready position to strike so it was over. But dam, it hurt like a ***** too, he could have easily broke my **** if he wanted.

no doubt getting your collar bones grabbed and pulled on hurts like crazy and will take you out of the game for a moment or two but on the flip side grabbing someone while standing means your close enough to get hit and if your hand(s) are on there collar bone how do you protect your chin? when i was in highschool and getting into fights i loved when some one tried to “hockey fight” and grab my shirt, it means your throwing with one hand and im throwing with two… advantage me. ive found more often then not a trained fighter will do well when the other guy is doing the things there are trained to deal with but when you throw them a curveball it throws them WAY off track, like when a BJJ guy slaps on a guillotine and gets bit on the side they lose there cool a bit. the truth is the only thing that works in a “real world” situation is what ever works at that moment, minute to minute you gotta think and react. the best way to go about it is just get the f*ck outta there and dont bother, fighting in the street will only get you hurt and in trouble, like i tell my kids “dont bust up your hands and face unless your getting paid for it!” because its just not worth it.

p.s. i understand what you where saying with the Japanese guy, but i’ll bet had you have thrown that hook he would have let go of you right quick or be willing to eat another one. ether that or snap your sh*t off with extreme prejudice lol.

Yea haha i know what you mean about the hockey fight syndrome, i personally prefer to grapple if a guy grabs me in any way. I mean especially the hockey grip lol its like a reflex action to tie up the arm and throw him. Its all about the balance, if your controling his arm hes got no balance to throw punches atleast not any powerful ones. Now hes on the ground and its even harder for him to generate power on his shots. I only strike from a distance, once we get close enough i figure i know more about grappling than the average hockey shirt style fighter lol.

The double hand grab is even more ridiculous lol. I must know 50 ways to counter that but ofcourse i have my favorite which ive practiced like mad and its like a reflex now. I pity the fool that tries to grab me with both hands hehe

Unless hes like 350 lbs pure muscle, then you gotta jump on your bicycle (no, dont dance around like Ali) REALLY jump on your bike and get the **** outa there lol.

yeah if got some grappling skills it’ll help a bunch up close if you can toss him around and put him in a bad spot, me i just dont have that. i use striking from any and all positions to keep the other guy from getting his mind right, its hard to think clear when you getting hit over and over even if there just weak asss arm punches. although thats worked against me too, one time i tried to take on a giant native guy in a 7-11 parking lot, i head faked him and he ducked, scooped me up, and slammed me hard on the cement… it sucked bad! two things i did wrong #1 head faked when i should have just thrown and #2 try to take on someone who probably out weighed me by 200lbs. or so lol.
