Following UFC 94, a dozen fighters were tested for banned substances by the Nevada State Athletic Commission.. All fighters passed the tests, except for one.
The NSAC confirmed today that Karo Parisyan tested positive for multiple prescription painkillers including hydromorphone, oxymorphone, and hydrocodone.
While these are prescription medications, a fighter is required to disclose any substances they are taking prior to being cleared to fight on a commission approved fight card.
Parisyan defeated Dong Hyun Kim via decision at UFC 94, but now risks having that victory overturned.
In addition to a possible victory reversal, Parisyan also could face both suspension and a fine from the NSAC. As usual, Parisyan will have the opportunity to appeal the findings and have his place at a hearing before the NSAC to plead is case.
No official decision or hearing date has been set at this time.
Tough news for a fighter who has already been struggling recently both in and out of the Octagon.

Darn it….. I like Karo, I support him in this man, gosh it’s not like he’s a steroid user… rules are rules, he knew the deal so I guess we’d better all get ready to watch the NSAC do their thing…. sucks…
