UFC welterweight Karo Parisyan last fought at UFC 94 where he defeated Dong Hyun Kim via split decision. After the fight, Parisyan tested positive for three banned substances: oxymorphone, hydromorphone, and hydrocodone.

Earlier today, the Nevada State Athletic Commission unanimously voted to suspend Parisyan from competition for a period of nine months and also fined him $32,000.

In addition, the result of his UFC 94 victory will now be overturned from a split decision to a “No Decision.”

All three banned substances are painkillers that Parisyan was prescribed by a doctor. However, Karo failed to reveal his medications to the NSAC prior to his bout with Kim as is required by commission rules.

ok since a day or two after the whole thing ive been quiet about the greasing thing, now that the hearing has come and gone and Penn’s people have said there piece there is a few things i wanna say…. first off, BJ Penn is coming off as a big baby in this whole thing. saying “St.Pierre shouldnt be proud to wear the belt because he cheated to get it” is lame, go back and watch the tape BJ you could cover the guy in glue and the fight would have looked the same. Matt Hughes and Mayhem Miller claim GSP may have “greased” in there fights too (except Hughes/St.Pierre 1 of course lol) yet they didnt bother to make a big deal about it till now? Jason Parillo, Penn’s boxing coach claims David Weintraub, a freelance videographer hired by the UFC told him BEFORE the fight that St.Pierre had been “greasing”, so why say something then? nah its better to hold that trump card till after you lose right? it seems to me that they are trying anything and everything to keep this one from going down as a loss for Penn, the problem was addressed and rectified during the fight so maybe its time to be quiet and get your asss back in the gym for you next one BJ. but the one thing that kills me about the whole hearing is….. BJ’s Mom got up and read a statement on behalf of her son, really she did. come on BJ your Mom? really? what a warrior, goes down swinging (kinda lol) and then gets his Mom to come and straighten sh*t up because the other guy must have cheated. lmfao! i really hope Penn realizes how much of a ***** he looks like right now.

the only thing i have to say is bj penn didnt even finish the fight he gave up,like a *****.

I dont see it that way Richard, BJ was done in that fight man, he suffered a concussion in the 2nd round and came back to fight in the 3rd. Thats no joke man, you could die from that especially when someone is pounding on you when your already out of it. In that case the ref cant stop the fight because theres no way for him to know the damage that was done and the fighter is still trying to defend himself.

I dont think hes a ***** for admitting defeat and it was clear the fight was over after the 2nd but he still came back in the 3rd fighting with a concossion. When he felt that he wouldnt be competitive anymore because he was already tired and injured while GSP was still fresh. BJ probably felt like he would only get more injured if the fight continued and i think it was a good stoppage (by BJ himself)I dont ever want to see someone die in the cage man, especially someone as talented as BJ, he will live to fight another day.

        • richard says:

i didnt know he had a concusion but i called him a ***** cuz he called gsp a ***** for tapping with serra thats the only reason and he has said before many times hes willing to die in the cage dont say that stuff if u dont mean it.

I agree with that Richard, BJ ran his mouth waaaay too much, and the irony that he called GSP a quitter and he ended up quitting looked pretty bad. Then calling him a cheater and his mom calling GSP a cheater, BJ really did come off as a *****. As a fighter i dont think hes a ***** for stopping the fight, but as a person…. dam BJ is really digging a hole for himself..
