shamrock was way overpaid.
I don’t think so Richard, it was his name that carried the entire card and made EVERYONE on the card make money. Whether you liked his performance or not, his name and reputation is what got them PPV buys and gate sells.
I didn’t like Chuck Liddells last performance, he got KO’ed brutally, but it was his name that sold that UFC and it is his name on this Saturdays fight that will sell it. Does he deserve half a million dollars to get ko’ed? Debateable, but let me ask, WHO deserves the revenues these Fight Org’s get more than their star fighters who shed blood, train hard, and have built YEARS of reputation through their fights ect.
I think Shamrock more than deserved it, I think Chuck STILL deserves it, I think Wand deserves it, Couture – absolutely, they paid their dues, they are the HUGE DRAWS that bring in the money, without them cards don’t sell,,,, I am doling out $50 Saturday to watch Chuck and Rua fight… I guess overall, they are the only reason I am BUYING this and so they deserve the majority of the revenue stream.
Frank, is a legend, I say let him go another couple fights over 250k – heck why not, and Diaz… UNDERPAID, I hope he makes MORE next time.
Keeps everyone fighting, in business, and happy.
i fully agree with the idea that guys like Chuck, Randy, Frank Shamrock, and even Tito deserve the big paydays just based on the idea that for the promoters to get a big payday they need to have a name like those guys to sell a card. even a guy like Brock Lesnar who has NOT paid his dues should get big money just because he brings in big money, and the more money being generated within the sport the better it’ll be for the fans.

Guys, Frank made that much because hes basically a promoter as well as a fighter, actually he made more than that considering he gets a percentage of the gate too. He did alot of work outside the cage and hes a shrewd businessman PLUS hes a legend and all that, good for you Frank.
