The UFC recently released two Canadian fighters from their roster as both Jason MacDonald and David Loiseau where released from their contracts.
MacDonald enjoyed a ten fight run in the UFC, but only managed to gather an even 5-5 record over those ten fights. Following his recent first round TKO loss to Nate Quarry at UFC 97, MacDonald had lost three of his last four fights and five of his last eight. With the UFC looking to further trim is fighter roster, that record wasn’t enough to keep MacDonald employed by Zuffa.
MacDonald is hoping to land on his feet and looking to sign with Strikeforce and is hopeful that a few wins outside the UFC will earn him an invitaiton back to the “big show.”
Loiseau made his return to the UFC at UFC 97, after a full two year absence from the promotion. “The Crow” enjoyed early success in the UFC winning his first three fights and eventually competing for the UFC middleweight title at UFC 58. Unfortunately, Loiseau lost that title fight and his next two fights and was released from the UFC.
Hoping to make a successful comeback in front of his hometown crowd at UFC 97, Loiseau instead lost a three round unanimous decision to Ed Herman and was dropped from the UFC once again.

The Athlete!
what???? Why did they even bring Loiseau back if they were just going to release him again so soon. That sucks man :(
RJ, what you think about this Loiseau thing?
absolute crap IMO, he works his way back to the UFC and loses in a match where he couldnt really get off his back partly due to Herman being such a strong wrestler and partly because David tends to get a bit complacent on the bottom but no second shot? that bites, i know the Crow still has fans who want to see him fight and they could have given him at least one more shot, it couldnt hurt them that much right?
