i can understand if you don't like lesnar for his attitude, but the man is a hell of a fighter. he's only been training mma for 2 years max and he's 4-1 in the ufc with wins over couture and mir. he's going to dominate the h/w division for the next couple of years....deal with it. the vanilla gorilla will eat up the ufc competition until he fights fedor, and fedor didn't impress me at all for the first 4 1/2 minutes against arlovsky.

My comment was on another thread BV.. lol ... you could have entitled this "TO KANSAS" SHUT UPPP!!!.. lol --

You points are all correct, the point MOST vivid and correct would be the point that "Ya he used to be more exciting before he discovered his amazing wrestling abilities"...

GSP is not that exciting to me, but hey he's getting bank $400k to fight is great, and I bet he will get a mil to fight A Silva-

It's obvious that the reason Brock is so hated is because he is so physically imposing and gifted...a unique genetic specimen almost. Of course, jealousy plays a huge part. Most of these guys have trained BJJ their entire lives and here comes this overgrown freakshow with no BJJ training, and he makes them look bad. So the age-old question is asked again, can size and power neutralize Brazilian Jui Jitsu? For Brock Lesnar, it can.
I still think that he hasn't been really caught yet. There was a moment or two in this fight where Mir landed a few strikes to his face and he started to cover up immediately and turn away. I won't give him the respect of a true UFC heavyweight champion until I see him face some real adversity, recover from it, and still manage to overcome that adversity and win the fight.
THAT, is what currently separates him from other champions and at this point, Fedor is the only man walking this planet that has seen and done it all.
Personally, I would have more interest watching him fight another physically imposing striker (Kongo) as opposed to a wrestler (Velasquez). There's no way Cain will outwrestle or overpower Brock...but even though Kongo has problems with wrestlers in general, I think his size technique would make an interesting fight.

about GSP

I can see why people are saying hes the new Matt Hughes and as a huge fan of Hughes i dont really see that as a bad thing. Ya he used to be more exciting before he discovered his amazing wrestling abilities. Cant you guys see the strategy in taking a guy down at will and beating on him? We have all seen in the past that hes a dangerous striker, but why would you give your opponent a chance to land that one shot that can end the whole fight? or cut you and take your belt and your money and your legacy?

Very similar to the Lesnar situation, you wanna stand up with Lesnar or GSP? simple, stop the takedown, if you cant then dont complain about it your facing a superior wrestler deal with it.

about Brock

Like i said, its not about having a BJJ game for a guy like Brock, it ws just a matter of tweaking his wrestling for MMA. He just needs a few safe positions and a few things to worry about (dont let him get guard etc.) and he can overcome the huge BJJ defecit. Id like to see him fight Fedor, but i think its safe to say that it would be Fedors toughest test ever. Im not a Brock fan, but if you dont respect what he brings to the table your kidding yourself. That scarf hold he put on Mir was awesome, then the strength he showed conrtolling Mirs wrist before the end of the fight was just the nail on the coffin. You might think its boring, but guys are in there to win and get paid and be the champ, its not like he was running around scared to engage, he played his game and came out on top, i give him all the respect a UFC HW champ deserves.

I hate Brock as much as the next guy, girl, child, etc. but after seeing Frank Mir's face almost immediately turn into a smurf-like creature, I realized that there is so much more to Lesnar's power than those who are not actually in the cage with him, do not understand. I don't see any heavyweight (in the UFC) beating Brock anytime soon. I personally think he would beat both Velasquez and Carwin at this point.
Someone here said it best, that GSP is the newer, boring version of Matt Hughes and I can't help but agree. I used to watch him in amazement, much like Anderson Silva, to see how dynamic and creative he can be in the octagon. But lately I'm losing more amd more interest in watching him manhump his opponents and cutting them into bloodiness with smothering headbutts. I think there were a few moments in the fight where, had it been any other fighter than GSP, the referee would have stepped in and let them stand back up.
Many might think I'm crazy but I would absolutely be thrilled to watch GSP fight Anthony Johnson.
