The UFC officially announced yesterday that former UFC middleweight champion Rich Franklin and former PrideFC welterweight and middleweight champion Dan Henderson will meet for the second time at UFC 103.
“Hendo” and “Ace” first met at UFC 93 with Henderson picking up a split-decision victory in an extremely close battle. Franklin bounced back with a big victory over Wanderlei Silva at UFC 99 while Henderson proceeded to brutally knockout Michael Bisping last month at UFC 100.
Rich Franklin was unhappy with the decision against Henderson in their first fight and has always contended that he should have one the fight and things would be different should the two meet again.
Dan Henderson was hoping and originally expecting another title shot at Anderson Silva following his KO against Bisping, but the UFC management had different ideas.
While not officially discussed by the UFC, the fight is expected to take place in the light heavyweight division, although another catchweight fight at 195 lbs. is a distinct possibility.

I’m not sure I want to see this fight yet. Feels to me more like a fight after a Henderson loss to Silva. I bet Rich is pumped for this chance so soon.
