In 2003, Craig "Dr J" Jolicoeur began what would eventually become MMA HQ. Over the course of several years and several different websites, MMAHQ.com was established and quickly gained a loyal following. The original and current aim of MMA HQ is to provide up-to-date news and information in the world of mixed martial arts. Today, thousands of people get their MMA fix either directly through MMAHQ.com, or through its news feeds or associate websites every day.

Personally, I LOVE MMA, but I don’t care much about the UFC. It’s one of many promotions, and certainly not my favorite. Fedor is a huge star worldwide and really doesn’t need the UFC. A lot of Americans have this ridiculous loyalty to the UFC brand, as though any MMA match outside the UFC is somehow not legitimate. It’s like saying McDonald’s makes the only REAL hamburgers. Even now, many of the top-seated fighters in the pound-for-pound rankings began their careers in Pride.
MOST UFC fighters would not have done well in PRIDE and would not do well in DREAM because of the 10-minute first round. I love the 10-minute first round. It seperates the weak from the strong.
