For those of you who didnt see it, this is the King Mo vs Mark Kerr fight that happened tonight at M1.

Oh.. and how bout Ian Freeman as the announcer? not great, but i like seeing ex-athletes get these kind of jobs even if they might not be as good as pro announcers.

  2. Lam says:

“Mike Russow (260) vs. Justin McCully (238)”

That sucks. I dont recall seeing either one of these fighters fight before, but this makes me feel slightly better about picking Russow over McCully.

  3. MMAKansas says:

Anywhere to watch UFC online tonight guys? BV/ RJ?

  4. patrick says:

yoyoyo pussies… randy really should hang it up after this fight… his chin is starting to catch up with his age ey???

    • R.J. St.Croix says:

it kinda seems that way eh? im thinking its more likely that age is slowing his reflexes a bit, he seemed to be very hittable tonight and everything that had any power looked like he was getting hurt. im wondering if the year off made the old set in on him.

  5. R.J. St.Croix says:

so i got murdered on my picks for this one, i only picked 2 right lol. so now that the rest of the crew has a good jump on me this season im going to have to start going back to picking who i think will win and stop picking who i wanna see win lol.

    • Lam says:

I did too RJ. I had been doing really well this season but I only got 3 winners right which gave me 17 points. I went from first to fifth.

      • R.J. St.Croix says:

yeah a few of our camp mates got killed, Kansas, Laura, you, my sister-in-law (gus-swifey), me, and my brother-in-law (gus) all got under 25 points last night lol. i need to turn it around big time if i wanna even make top ten this season, ether that or the rest of you dont make pick for the next show or two lol.

        • bvrasp says:

We did pretty bad as a camp overall this event, i dunno how i ended up with 40 something, got 6 zeros on my picks. Apart from that, it was a very entertaining event tho, what was it? like 10 fights shown on the ppv? gotta love those first round KOs.

  6. richard says:

the one that really saved my *** was me picking nate to tko over damien in the first that alone got me 22points.i didnt even make a wager this event.

  7. MMAKansas says:

I was rooting for Nog, man he looked good, at full force, I don’t know if Brock could beat him, I think lesnars still greener than say Tim Sylvia and if Nog can sub him he can sub Brock, only problem there I think is that brocks neck is a bit thick to get a guil. around… or anything else.. but I hope Nog gets the winner of Brock Les-bian and Shane Car-lose.

  8. Banned2 says:

actually car-lose is pretty funny instead of car-win. because thats what going to happen hes going to lose.

    • richard says:

come on i give him a way better chance against anyone that brock has faced except couture.brocks boxing is really sloppy and carwin also hits like a truck, brock in his fight with couture and especially with mir was rocked or rattled at least once.

      • bvrasp says:

Thats true Richard, but the problem is the wrestling, the classic striker vs grappler matchup and we all know what happens 9 out of 10 times.

        • richard says:

bvrasp u saying carwin aint got no wrestling, what about this i got it from wiki.He wrestled in college, becoming a two-time NCAA Division II Wrestling National Runner-Up Heavyweight in 1996-7, and the NCAA II Wrestling Heavyweight National Champion in 1999.Now to me that looks pertty goood.

  9. bvrasp says:

Richard, what im saying is that compared to Lesnar, yes Carwins got no wrestling. 2 time div II runner up? compared to ridiculously dominant div I champ, 2 time all american, 106-5 record LOL.

Check the wiki for the in depth stuff, but basically Carwins only shot of winning this fight is landing a clean punch on Brock, i seriously doubt he can stop Brocks shoot.

    • richard says:

i cant really believe ur saying carwin has no wrestling i think he has enough to get back to his feet and even stop a shot which if u watch lesnars fights he doesnt set up cuz hes so strong but guys carwins a pertty big guy himself almost as big as lesnar.Basically lesnar is gonna get koed the guy is still really new.

  10. chosen141 says:

i honestley think that Carwin might knock him out, everyone has that one punch on the button!
as for wrestling, i think that Lesnar is gonna just charge on him like he did with Hearing in the beggining of the first round ! take him down and hammer fist him till the ref steps in !

and still the HW Champ Lesnar

But…is Fador good enough for him,,,we all have seen him take on bigger guys! But Lesnar is huge !

Honestley i wouldnt even wanna see Fedor loosing to Lesnar!

  11. Amir says:

Carwin’s takedown defense better be at an all-time high level because it is nearly impossible to stop a Brock Lesnar takedown attempt.

Randy actually faired very well pinning Brock up against the cage and keeping him there, at least until Brock decided he had enough. Carwin is much bigger than Couture and I think his best bet is too clinch Brock to the cage, separate himself from that clinch, and unleash a barrage of strikes.

Aside from the Couture fight, I’ve yet to see Brock with his back to the cage. Once Randy landed a few knees in the clinch, Brock didn’t like it and tried to get the fight back to the middle of the Octagon. Either he seems to want to prove his striking skills to people or he likes his chances of standing in the center to land big punches/give himself plenty of room to attempt a charging takedown.

Either way, I’m certainly no trainer, but I think Carwin’s team should focus on speed, agility, and takedown defense with the gameplan of pressing Brock to be on his toes and constantly backing up, forcing him to use his footwork and preventing him from setting up a takedown. Randy, being a rather small heavyweight, IMO faired better and lasted longer than most of Lesnar’s other opponents. He was quicker, kept Brock guessing, and forced him into a grappling match.

Basically, if Carwin is relegated to moving backwards and allows Brock to control the pace of the fight, it’s going to be a short night for Shane Carwin.

  12. Banned2 says:

Randy did well because Brock was pacing himself. HE didn’t want to blow his load early. once he saw Randy’s game plan and dealt with what he had to offer he opened up. it was simply the rookie in him. Probably nerves. As for Carwin I don’t think he deserves a shot but hell neither did brock so what the hell. Did anyone notice that Gonzaga had him knocked out and for some reason clinched with him instead of finishing him off then shortly after that Carwin knocked him out. If Gonzaga would have thrown just one more punch he would have ended it. man I was screaming at the tv that night. Why did he bother clinching? but anyway IMO if Brock catches Carwin with even 1 right hand it will be over. but you could say the same thing about brock but IMO Brocks recovery time is good enough to get him by. so even if Carwin catches him brock will instinctively clinch or get the takedown. no matter what I bet it ends in the first.

  13. Banned2 says:

Lesnar gets koed? wanna bet on it? and Brocks new? what Carwin isn’t? he just started fighting in the ufc 3 fights ago before that he fought junk at fairs or something, and as far as Carwin being as big as Lesnar…just wait and see the size difference during the stair down. Lesnar will not only be taller (despite what his stats say) but, has reach advantage, and will out weigh him by probably 25 lbs or so. the man cuts weight to make 265 down from god knows what probably 285. what’s Carwin come in at 255? And who will be stronger? Brock! he no doubt is the strongest man in mma. And no need to bring up who the better wrestler is. Carwin doesn’t stand a chance other than a lucky punchers chance which will be like winning the lottery for him.

  14. Amir says:

“Randy did well because Brock was pacing himself”.

I’m pretty sure that sounds like your opinion. Do you have the ability to read minds, including Brock Lesnar’s?
because if you do, that’s pretty impressive.

See, my comment was about an actual strategy based on skills, attributes, and limitations of both fighters. If all you have to add to the commentary is:

“Randy did well because Brock was pacing himself”, do us all a favor and keep those bonehead idiocies to yourself.

  15. Banned2 says:

this from a guy that admitedly doesn’t watch all the fights. why try to start **** with me again Amir? of course Brock was pacing himself. idiot! Randy always try’s to drag the fight out and gas opponents in the later rounds. plus Brock is green he had to fill out Randy to see what he was bringing to the table. My god why do you even try to post? “do us all a favor” ok I’ll stop wasting my time supporting mmahq. maybe you should us this time to watch a full ppv. or come up out of your parents basement and get a job. then you could afford to order ppv with mom and dads permission. lol

  16. R.J. St.Croix says:

now children, im going to put you each in your own corner for 5 minutes if you dont stop fighting….. do you want that? i didnt think so….. now Amir you say sorry to Banned, and Banned you say sorry to Amir….. can you guys get along now? thank you! now im gonna let you guys play with Brock Lesnar but be nice to each other and no fight ok?

  17. Amir says:

Actually Douchebag, I’m pretty sure I’ve been here supporting and contributing to this site much longer than you and it’s pretty apparent that no one here likes you or your assinine opinions.

Although I don’t get to come here as often as I used to, I’m assuming that everyone here has already dealt with your moronic nature, and therefore choose to ignore you and not get involved when you get into another one with someone else.

So do us a favor, go play in on-coming traffic or at the very least, cower back into the obscurity from which you came and go back to whatever other MMA sites your used to being ignored at.

  18. Banned2 says:

cower back into obscurity? actually I was involved with mma torch and did very well in their fantasy league they had on their site. and as far as I’ve seen you must have a thing for me because you shur don’t ignore me. you and someone called **** are the only people that get attitude with me. I find all this very entertaining. assinine opinions? thats funny because I do pretty good in mmahq fight camp. so I most know something. As for that bet Richard. how about loser stops posting? I’d love it if Amir would take the same bet. maybe then I would stop getting **** for my opinion. Is this really how you guys welcome semi new people to your message board?

  19. MMAKansas says:

People, this is a forum, blog, whatever, but it’s non-exclusive so its not like each one of us owns a piece of this and has seniority over another.

A person can argue, talk crap, even be ridiculous or whatever just keep it clean.

Nice arguments guys.. fun fun fun.. another day at MMAHQ

  20. MMAKansas says:

    NO MEMBERSHIP REQUIRED! :)

  21. MMAKansas says:

I think Carwin is going to knock Brock out. He sure has the motivation for it, and both of them look like they chiseled their bodies out of roids, so I don’t see either having a cardio advantage, but both are strong as heck.

  22. Banned2 says:

    Kansas:
Yes it is fun. one of the reasons I joined the camp, and what other site/camp gives prizes for doing well on the playground? I would play for free. Arguing without name calling is hard to do exspecially for me, but I can try my best until I’m provoked.
I still say Brock will take it. despite what people say he is good for the sport. anyone that gets media attention (without breaking any laws that is) will help mma get to the next level of main stream. I know he isn’t a very respectful sports man but I find him to be funny. I laugh at almost all of his stupid **** he does. Amir and **** I mean Richard just squash it if your man enough. as for the bet it still stands if you wanna take it. I will honor my end of it. how about you?

  23. R.J. St.Croix says:

ok thats it you guys are both grounded…… to your rooms NOW!!!!
for real guys, “loser leaves” bet are unnecessary and so is name calling and other such childish behavior. there is nothing wrong with saying “i disagree with your opinion and we will find out soon enough if your right” is there? i know sometimes a person can be annoying or what ever but going off and ripping into them is probably not going to solve that for you EVER. there has been people come to this site and targeted me or tried to bait me into an argument, but more often then not my subtle sarcasm chases them off or discourages them from trying to argue with me without resorting to childish name calling and such. just relax, chill, be cool, let talk about MMA for a bit….please.

    • MMAKansas says:

I have definately targeted, baited, and ripped into over half of the people that have EVER posted on this site, I think I ran Dennis off too.. lolz..

The point is…. … .. . SAY NO TO CRACK!

  24. richard says:

banned ill bet u cash money buddy, what u say? money where ur mouth is what about 20 dollars?come on dont be a *****

  25. bvrasp says:

I see alot of people picking Carwin over Brock, personally i HOPE Carwin gets the W, but Brock is definately the favorite here guys. Hes the champ, hes the man, love him or hate him, theres no denying that he has earned that respect. Im rooting for anyone who faces Brock because its like, who can slay the beast?

That being said, i dont think Carwin will be able to land that one shot on Brock before he gets taken down. I also dont think he can stop Lesnars takedowns or be able to get back to his feet with Brock on top of him.

and another thing.. carwin has never been past the 2 min mark of the first round so we dont know what his cardio is like and this is a 5 rounder? We know Brock can go 3 rounds, but Shane is still a mystery.. who knows maybe he has amazing cardio, its just one more unknown factor in this fight.

    • MMAKansas says:

      @BV

Brock being the favorite with both fans and betting lines is obvious, I am picking Carwin because I think he is going to catch brock early on. Carwin has better hands and head movement, he also has a chin.

I am going for the underdog on this one, not because I don’t like Brock, it’s not about celebrity status ect, it’s about Brock being a great wrestler but not having the hands to stand with someone that is also pretty strong.

Carwin isn’t Randy, he isn’t going to come in 50-70 pounds lighter than the champ, so I give Carwin a good chance.

      • R.J. St.Croix says:

Kansas you and i are on the same wave length here, like most fights where both match up well in grappling, the fight usually ends up being won by the better striker. Carwin doesnt need to be a better wrestler then Brock, he just needs to be good enough to stop him from sitting on top and dropping bombs. on the feet Carwin is more technical, both have KO power, and Carwin has taken big shots before, so standing Carwin will most like be able to shake up Brock easier then vise versa….. IF Carwin can stay on his feet! heres a question for yall, do you think we will see Carwin take Brock down and work some G’n'P at some point in there fight? i think it will happen and i think it’ll happen early in the fight, i think it would be smart for Carwin to at least try just to keep Lesnar guessing a bit.

        • MMAKansas says:

I don’t see Brock bringing anything new to the table, why should he, he’s been nothing but dominant, so he will stick to what he’s been doing.

Problem with that is everyone is watching his game, they are finding the holes, what to do, what will not work, (thanks Mir for showing us what WONT work) and I think that just like every great fighter, eventually your game get’s found out by someone who is willing to switch it all up to win.

Carwin is still working a full time job…. wow…. he is fighting a main event, headliner and he’s bi-vocational as an MMA fighter. Ever hear of a boxer who is fighting for the heavyweight title and is still bi-vocational? It blows my mind that the UFC would underpay a top contender who’s good enough for a title fight, so that they have to work full time…

Full time employment may very well work to his favor. He does MMA for the love of the game, not for a sponsorship and paycheck, as we all know Brock is about the money.

Brock: when I got out of college I had two options, the olympics, or wrestling, vince offered me 250k and I didn’t have a pot to piss in. You make the choice! —- I.E. the cheddar is what mostly matters –

Money versus pride… which is the greatest motivator…

  26. richard says:

i think carwin can get back to his feet, but i guess we will have to wait and see.

  27. chosen141 says:

Im not sure about Carwins cardio…But for sure in this fight its gonna show really good and that it can last long unless ofcourse if Brock dosent get the takedown right away and then we all know what its about !!!
the only way that Carwin can get back on his feet while having Brock ontop of him is if he pokes him or headbut’s him and Brock pulls back but then Brock would for sure kill him ! like BV said
“who is gonna slay the beast”
we need Fedor in the UFC …the only way to see who’s best
and finally get answers for our questions !

  28. Banned2 says:

    rich:
thats funny. how do i know you will pay me when i win? $20? I’m a ***** if I don’t do $20? it’s not like we are talking about real money. I usually us betus and drop $50 sometimes a $100 at a time. but like I said how do I know you will honor it?

    • richard says:

ill do 50 or a 100,um actually thats a good point but at least on my end i will pay.if u want ill give u my girlfriends myspace so u can embarass me to all my girls friends if i dont pay?

  29. Banned2 says:

I don’t have a my space. my 14 year old girl does lol. anyway wouldn’t she have to except me as a friend before I could even see her account. this whole thing sounds ***. Just send me some money now since Brocks gonna win. lol. I don’t know how to handle this since we don’t know one another. I’m willing to put up as much money as you want, but we need a third party or something. cause I don’t trust many people expecially when I’ve never even met them. thats why I came up with the whole loser stops posting thing. how about loser drops out of the mmahq fight camp or something. unless you can come up with something better. I suppose you don’t live in southern OH. or northern KY.

  30. Banned2 says:

Dude just keep your money. its sounds like you have a gambling problem or something. I mean realistically I should give you odds since Brock is the favorite. Just lay your money down with a bookie and since dudes a underdog you’ll make more than $50. I’m pretty confident that Brock will when as are all the betting sites. so this is kind of a dumb bet for you. And then to hear he has a full time job on the side. thats sad. also Brock is a simple guy and not as much about money as you think. have you not seen the car he drives? or heard how much money he could have made staying in the wwe but chose to try a football career.

  31. Banned2 says:

omg, fine! I tried to give you an out. po box 574 new vienna Oh. 45159 send me the money if Car-lose wins I will send you $100 back. what a dork.

  32. MMAKansas says:

Richard.. what’s the problem dude? Why are you acting like this? Bet on playground and see who’s pick made it….no harm no foul just bragging rights man..
