In 2003, Craig "Dr J" Jolicoeur began what would eventually become MMA HQ.
Over the course of several years and several different websites, MMAHQ.com was established and quickly gained a loyal following. The original and current aim of MMA HQ is to provide up-to-date news and information in the world of mixed martial arts.
Today, thousands of people get their MMA fix either directly through MMAHQ.com, or through its news feeds or associate websites every day. Tags: ESPN, MMA Live
it was a pretty good show last night. Luigi Fioravanti vs John Alessio was a nice KO and David Heath vs Mike Nickels was a war, the rest of the card was ok but even a boring fight is good when Michael Schiavello is calling the action lol.
I know what you mean RJ.. there were more hooks than a pirates convention that night, then when he finally put the big KIBOSH on em, it was goodnight Irene… lol
Schiavello is too funny man, every show hes got a ton of great one liners. “hes taking more shots then a Japanese tourist” “hes wearing more leather then the Fonz” or one of my favorite “they asked him what his name is and he said Tuesday” lol.
How bout Dream 11, they added Saku to the card but the start time is 7am!!! wtf is that man… 3am was bad enough, theres no way i can swing that, looks like a next day download before i see the results on some site.
i guess once in a blue moon being unemployed works in your favor right lol. im up at 7:00am shipping the kiddies of to school anyways and i got nowhere to go and nothing to do so Dream works for me, but i see what your saying who the heck is going to be able to watch it on a Tuesday morning?
I didnt watch the full event, but i saw about 6 fights today, just now actually hehe. Tokoro vs Takaya was a cool fight, but i thought the fight got stopped, but they had another round.. hard to follow with the japanese commentating.
Warren got to taste some crow, he shouldnt have ran his mouth before the fight like he did, thats what happens bro.
Minowa did his usualy freak show fight, and Sapp.. the last time Sapp won a fight was against a fictional character from japanese anime… so… lol.
Nice to see Saku back, but who the hell was he fighting, some boxer who didnt even throw a punch the whole fight.
Kawajiri looked good.. though it be nice to see him fight someone ive heard of hehe..
Hansen REALLY wanted to win that fight! kicking Aoki in the balls then kicking the head of a downed opponent. I really thought Aoki was just going to quit right there and get the DQ win, but to my surprise he came back to win the fight, great stuff.
Overall there were a ton of mismatches, but thats japan for you.. I wish i could have watched it live, but i guess ill catch the next one.
Bibiano Fernandes and Hiroyuki Takaya in the finals was crazy, i was sitting there waiting for one land clean and KO someone.
its nice to see Saku have a gimmie, someday he just might retire lol.
Sokoudjou and Minowa did exactly as expected, not that the super hulk tourney was a big selling point anyways.
the Aoki/Hansen fight was good. i think Aoki was taking advantage of things a bit, most of his takes downs came as a result of ref intervention, the kick in the rocks was no good but the head kick were all legal so the 5 min. break was to clear his head not to make his balls descend again. i just seen a few things that made it look like they were stacking the deck against Hellboy.
all in all it was a good event, too bad you had to watch the Japanese broadcast because Schiavello had some zingers… “predicting Saku’s attack is like finding a pubic hair at a Jonas bros. concert…. impossible” LMFAO!
man for the next little while there is a bunch of fights happening.
