Some good news and bad news in the MMA world this weekend.

The GOOD NEWS is that Zaromskis has signed a multi fight contract with strikeforce. That guy is a beast man, hes taking over where crocop left off with the high kick KO. I feel sorry for the guys at 170 or 185 because he could fight at both. Diaz, Riggs, Heiron, Mayhem, Shields.. all these veterans are in trouble in my opinion, 2010 is going to be an exciting year for strikeforce because of this guy.

The BAD NEWS is that the UFC released Josh Neer after his latest loss. That makes me sad.. whos next? McFedries? Wanderlei Silva? just because they have been losing fights lately doesnt mean they should get the boot. These are guys who make EXCITING fights! win or lose i always love to see these guys throw down.

Man his last win against Danzig was EPIC, it will be interesting to see where Neer ends up. Dream maybe? WVR? Shooto? Imagine Neer vs Gomi! daaam that would be a HELL of a scrap.

    Guys,

Any requests on what we should get Tito to say in a video spot for UFC 106? My marketing guys that does Strikeforce stuff is doing UFC 106 (you remember the video spot we had with Gina Carano), so I gotta send him a script for Tito.

    Any ideas????

  4. bvrasp says:

Thats really cool, but when your on the spot like this its hard to think of anything for Tito to say.

    errr…

How bout, MMAHQ : where the consensus is that Shogun won 4 rounds to 1

hey guys this has nothing to do with mma but tommorrow im going to my grandma’s funeral, and all i have to say is if u guys have someone u guys love tell them sometimes cuz u never know what the next day may bring…..

    • MMAKansas says:

Good word man – sorry for your loss brother.

    • R.J. St.Croix says:

brother i know exactly what you mean. when my Grandmother passed on (she was a huge part of my life) i got to tell her all the things i wanted to say when she was on her deathbed, it meant a lot to both of us. i tell my wife and kids i love them EVERY TIME we separate even if its only for a few minutes, because you never know when its going to be the list time you speak to them. keep your head up bro!

  7. R.J. St.Croix says:

so who is everyone picking for Couture vs. Vera? im still flip flopping on this one, i have no clue who i think will win. will Vera be able to keep Randy off of him and land a big shot? will Randy be able to work his Couture style grappling? young and hungry or seasoned and tested? i usually dont pick against Couture, but i think his last couple have made me think his age is catching up.

  8. MMAKansas says:

Randy will win – he’s my hands down pick – it’s a fact and I have learned this from training, that if you compete against younger, faster, stronger, bigger opponents for a few years, then jump back down to the same only your size, you are able to handle them with a lot more ease.

Randys days are numbered due to his age, but this fight will be his against a very unimpressive, (as of late) fighter who is star struck by the legend of the man he is facing.

Couture will control Vera with the takedown, it wont even be a contest. GNP or Decision Couture.

Wait till Randy get’s in that cage with the likes of Shogun, then he’s gonna run into the wall the Coleman ran into only Shogun will put him away in the first or second because Shoguns cardio is better now.

  9. bvrasp says:

Im also with Randy 100%, never been much of a Vera fan. I still remember when he was like a 3:1 favorite over Tim Sylvia based purely on hype and Tim controlled the whole fight from the outside. Tim is also the only fighter both these guys have in common and we all know what Randy did to Tim.

Kansas is right about fighting bigger stronger guys then moving down to smaller quicker guys. Vera doesnt have the speed to make much difference in my opinion, Randy will take him down and beat him up for a while. Randy will be too strong in the greco clinch which also prevents thai fighters from throwing knees (too close). Randy is also stronger on the ground (on top) and Veras BJJ hasnt shown to be a threat off his back.

This is a 3 round affair and although i see Randy controlling the fight, age may have slowed him down and Vera is good at using BJJ to hold someone long enough for a standup. So im seeing takedowns and GnP for Randy but probably ending in a unanimous decision win due to old gas tank and holding by Vera.

  10. R.J. St.Coix says:

yeah ive been leaning towards Randy too, but i still dont know. Randy looked like he lost a step when he fought Nog, Randy has faced better strikers the Nog and was able to do a lot better but with Nog it looked like he couldnt get out of the way of what throwing at him and on the ground Nog looked stronger and slicker. i know what you guys are saying with Randy moving down being an advantage for him, but Vera did the same so i dont know if its going to be that big of an advantage.

We got FEDOR this weekend guys, this should be a good event, very nice main card.

    Fedor vs Rogers
    Mayhem vs Jake Shields
    Mousassi vs Sokoudjou
    Big Foot Silva vs Werdum

    how good is that?
