Strikeforce has officially announced two title fights for their upcoming fight card scheduled for January 30 in Sunrise, FL.

Current 145 lb. women’s champion Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos will defend her title for the first time when she faces Dutch fighter Marloes Coenen.

Santos has not fought since winning the title against Gina Carano this past August. Coenen also last fought on the August Strikeforce card where she defeated Roxanne Modafferi.

The Strikeforce welterweight belt will also be on the line in a contest between Nick Diaz and Marius Zaromskis. The welterweight title, vacated by Jake Shields when he moved to middleweight, was originally slated to be up for grabs this past August, but the scheduled fight between Diaz and Jay Hieron never took place.

Zaromskis, the current DREAM welterweight champion will make his North American debut against Diaz.

The January show is shaping up to be another strong even for Strikeforce. I’m a bit surprised that Heiron didn’t get the title shot against Diaz as he was originally scheduled to a few months back, but you can’t argue with Zaromskis coming in and getting an immediate title shot.

The Strikeforce: Miami show will also feature the debuts of former NFL star Herschel Walker as well has former WWE star Bobby Lashley.

Also scheduled to fight is former EliteXC lightweight champion KJ Noons as well as former Strikeforce middleweight champion Robbie Lawler.

Oh man! Diaz vs Zaromskis thats gonna be nuts!!! if you dont know Zaromskis you soon will, hes like a mini crocop. I first noticed him at the dream WW GP where he KOed my boy Sakurai with a head kick in the first round, and Sakurai is one tough SOB. Then in the sma enight he high kick KOed (with the othe leg) Jason High whos also a tough athletic guy. Then in Zaromskis next fight in Dream he high kick KOed his opponent in like 12 seconds, i never heard of him but still, thats impressive man.

Of course Diaz has a huge advantage on the ground, but we all know Nick likes to stand up these days. Im assuming this fight will be at 170 and thats the best weight for Diaz especially with the extra muscle he put on, now he can actually cut weight.

Im talking about potential fight of the year here, and its in January, 2010 strikeforce FTW!!!
