Chael by Submission???? Wow! how do you figure that? Chael is more likely to GET submitted. I didn’t expect that one… I was thinking maybe grind out a decision or work the GnP for a TKO.

Then again, Leben submitted Akiyama so anythings possible…

  2. richard says:

but chaels GnP is sloppy so i think someone like silva would be able to submit him,but im hoping for the KO.

  3. bvrasp says:

My thoughts exactly Richard. Sonnen will definitely get the takedown and you can’t really KO a guy from your back so a sub is the best choice. Especially considering 7/10 of Chael’s losses have been by sub.

The thing is, I have a feeling Anderson wants to beat him up, punish him for the disrespect. That’s why I’m picking KO, maybe he could sweep him instead of submitting him just to beat him up some more.

I concur. Anderson’s game is on his feet, so he’ll be thinking “knockout” from the opening bell–he does NOT want to do the Willie Pep thing with this guy and score points playing with him. He wants him out of there, and is probably willing to throw first to do it.

That said, if Sonnen can get him down, Silva will try to take the submission rather than go out of his way to make a point with a knockout. At the end of the day a win’s a win, and nobody knows that better than Anderson Silva.
