The first casualty of UFC 132 has been revealed this morning as former TUF9 finalist Andre Winner has been released from the promotion.
Winner lost a very close final to team mate Ross Pearson back in 2009 but rebounded with two straight wins over Roli Delgado and Rafaello Oliveira.
It was then, however, that the Brit came unstuck as he lost a frustrating battle to the awkward Nik Lentz at UFC 118.
Winner jumped straight back into action but was submitted by Denis Siver at UFC 122 and, most recently, lost a clear cut decision against Anthony Njokuani.
The lightweight division has been hardest hit by the WEC/UFC merger which has resulted in an influx of talent at 155lbs.
Andre Winner clearly has a lot of potential and will surely now begin the process of assembling wins for another shot at the big show.
