The #RallyforMarkHunt campaign just got another high profile supporter and, in this case, they arguably don’t get a lot higher.

UFC commentator Joe Rogan has always been known for his outspoken approach and, in a thread he started on mixedmartialarts.com, outlined his thoughts on a potential Hunt vs. Dos Santos encounter.

There are some wise people on this board, and I support this movement. Style wise that might be the most exciting match up. Either way, even if Hunt doesn’t replace the reem I would still love to see this matchup down the road, especially considering how good Hunt looked against Kongo – Joe Rogan

Fighters, fans and everyone in between have been quick to support the move to substitute Hunt into the main event to meet champion Junior dos Santos. The planned main event between Junior dos Santos and Alistair Overeem was placed in severe doubt this week following a catastrophic drugs test failure from the Dutchman which left the title fight in limbo.

NSAC Executive Director Keith Kizer recently revealed that Overeem’s hearing will take place on April 24th. The commission will determine  whether or not they grant Overeem a license and the UFC will inevitably release an official statement soon afterwards.

The unassuming Samoan seems to have taken this whole situation in his stride but nearly 6,000 followers in a few days and a plethora of media interest will surely move the campaign for Mark Hunt closer to a truly fairy tale ending.
