The California State Athletic Commission has passed an amendment that would allow for therapeutic use exemptions for marijuana and TRT, according to an article on SI.com.
Both marijuana and testosterone are currently banned by the CSAC. In order to become law, the amendment would need to be approved by the Department of Consumer Affairs and California’s Office of Administrative Law.
The exemption would apply to those who need the drugs for health purposes, not to obtain an unfair advantage over opponents. The person applying for therapeutic use exemption would be responsible for the cost of tests and medical evaluations that would be requested for an approval.
