So Belfort has picked Cezar “Mutante” Ferreira to fight, and Wanderlei Silva talks about how Mutante is a “playboy”, and considers it fitting since his coach is Belfort, who cares a lot about his nails. Interesting criticism coming from someone who shaves his arms.
Anyway, it’s fight announcement time, and Rodrigo Damm isn’t there, which Wandy harps on quite a bit. Belfort picks Leonardo “Macarrao” Mafra Teixeira to fight Mutante. Then it’s time for the fighters to talk to the camera. Macarrao talks about training in Muay Thai since he was a kid. Mutante talks about his mother dying from cancer when he was only 12 years old. He met Belfort when he was 17 and has been training with him since.
Back in the TUF Brazil house, Gasparzinho accuses people of stealing, but apparently he leaves his stuff everywhere. There’s some requisite conversations about dishes, as bees are on the insane pile of dishes. Oh boy.
Next we get to see some fight prep, plus a large dose of product placement. Damn, these bars are good. And this drink will give you energy. Oh, and check out the logo on this deodorant.
The fight is intense, with Macarrao landing some big shots and Mutante trying and failing for some takedowns. In the 2nd round, Mutante finishes the fight by guillotine. Silva tries to encourage his fighter after the loss, and Macarrao says, “I’m going to help in training until we are champions.” Yeah, this show is very different from TUF in the U.S.
Team Wandy is down 0-4, though, so things may seem a bit more desperate next week.
