The term larger than life is often overused in mixed martial arts but when Bobby Lashley and James Thompson lock horns this Sunday in the main event of Super Fight League 3; that particular moniker fits perfectly.
The Indian promotion’s third main event sees James Thompson return, after his debut back at SF1 against Bob Sapp, but this time he’ll face a much sterner test in former pro wrestler Bobby Lashley. For Thompson, it’s the quest for more challenges, wherever they may be, that proves to be his motivation for this challenge.
The promise of more intense fights that will test me is what drew me back to Super Fight League. I’m excited to be a part of the Super Fight League’s plan to bring mma to India. – James Thompson
Lashley, unlike Bob Sapp, will not fold like the proverbial house of cards at the first sign of trouble and fully expects a war with Thompson this Sunday.
Everybody that he’s fought, he hasn’t really taken a step back. He’s always coming straight forward. I got to believe that in our fight, he’ll be charging straight forward and coming hard. I got to be ready for it. - Bobby Lashley
Super Fight League 3 has all the potential to be the biggest show in the organization’s short history but that hasn’t phased James Thompson who, as always, brings his own unique perspective to what should be a huge main event.
Have I got a message for Bobby Lashley? Yeah. Please don’t hit me with a steel chair. - James Thompson
