MMA HQ will be holding an official “launch day” tournament for UFC Undisputed on May 19.
The tournament will be a one day event featuring and eight man field in the light heavyweight division and will crown the first official MMA HQ – UFC Undisputed Light Heavyweight champion.
If you are interested in participating in the tournament, please leave a comment below under the email address you want to be contact at regarding the tournament info. In your comment leave your XBox LIVE GamerTag as well.
You must be available to compete in the tournament on May 19 for up to a possible three fights depending on how far you make it. The launch day tournament will be single-elimination and will begin at 9pm EST and should take under an hour to complete.
The first eight people to register will be included and the next four people will be selected as alternates incase any of the original eight don’t show.
Once the eight contestants are chosen, we will randomly draw a draft order and pick fighters. The draft order will also serve as the original seeding for the eight man bracket.

well i got some good news for you guys and some terrible news for me. im going to have to pull out of the launch day tourney, seems my wallet took a bit of a hit this week (damn kids needing food and things lol) and i wont be able to pick the game up till Wednesday,at least with kids you get a baby bonus cheque, just sucks it doesnt come till the 20th. ive been waiting for this damn game for like a year and yes one more day IS going to kill me! and to top it all off, about 3 minutes after i figured out it wont be happening on Tuesday, i get a call from EB Games saying “just calling to let you know, you can come get your game Tuesday morning.” man if i could reach through the phone and choke and innocent man! anyone have any advice on how to rob a corner store and get away with it? lol im going to curl up in the corner and cry now.

Hey, consider yourself lucky RJ, atleast you wont have to endure the shame of getting KOed by James Irvin within the first 10 sec of the fight lol. Seriously though, im sure we will play enough in the months to come that it wont matter much. Irvin and Boetch WILL meet and elbows WILL be dropping and bones WILL be breaking lol.

I’ve had the RRoD before. Its really just your heatsink.
All you need to do is replace your heatsink with better screws. The xbox uses these dumb “x-clamps” that warp over time. If you google around you can find what you need to replace them with better nylon washers and real screws.
Takes about an hour to fix.
Oh hell no! i feel for you Amir, i had that twice before. On the plus side, it doesnt take 6 months to get your 360 back anymore, buddy of mine said he got it back in like 3 days.
Sucks that your out of the tourney though… seems like its cursed or something. My car will probably break down when im going to pick the game up tomorrow….
I have no words to describe the frustration of having this happen days before the game hits stores, especially after all the waiting and anticipation. I can’t play games or watch DVDs…and the worst part about it is that it does work on occassion when it feels like it.
Thanx for the advice Doc, I have tried to research how to fix the problem, unfortunately I’m not that good at technical things and the YouTube videos seemed very complicated. If I try to take something like this apart, I know I’m done for. Does anyone know roughly how much it costs to have microsoft fix it, on top of the shipping hassle etc.
To be honest Amir, i wouldnt bother trying to fix it because depending on how old your system is there could be a number of different things wrong with it besides just the heatsink like Dr.J mentioined.
If your not under warranty it should run you about $100 and from my experience and others ive seen, they dont even fix it, they just give you a new system.
if you are planing on paying to have you XBox fixed you might wanna give some thought to getting a new one instead. the arcade bundle is between $179 and $199 and if you already have a HDD you dont really have to worry about that, and with a new system your less likely to spend your money just to have it break down again. it seems like its break down season for XBoxes my brother and two of my friend got the RROD last week and Amir and someone on my live friends this week already. i hope my baby doesnt have problems, my kids have one too and im not afraid to steal it from them so….. lol.

I have to tell you all that I just got off the phone with Xbox Live and I am utterly speechless and stunned by the quality of their customer service.
I bought my Xbox360 out of my buddy’s trunk about 4 years ago for $200.
Although I’ve never been a hardcore gamer who plays continously for days on end, I have used it for all these years to watch DVD’s and play games on rare occasion.
On the back of my console, I just noticed that the manufacturing date was 4/8/2006.
So, logically i’m thinking there’s no way in hell I will be able to get this console fixed for a reasonable price. Well, guess what.
They are going to fix my console for an “out-of-warranty” exception.
They are sending me all of the necessary shipping materials.
The operator was super friendly and even felt remorse for having this happen right before the release of “UFC Undisputed”, which he himself has already played and loves.
So, for a guy who usually doesn’t bother to deal with most customer services, my hats off to you microsoft and thanks to all you guys for your advice and support. Even though you will all be way ahead of me in learning the basics of the game, I promise I will be ready in a few weeks to kick all your asses!!!
