14 oz gloves ore 2 oz lighter. The padding is the same. Quicker? Yes. More powerful? No. That's why people who cheat in boxing, cheat by loading their glove with weights. I have said it before and I'll say it again.
The equation for Power is P=mV you can push 16 oz as fast as 14 oz. 16 has more mass so there fore produces more power. The only difference is acceleration which will have a slight edge with 14.

My gym does bare knuckle/shin sparring every other saturday during leap years .... It helps with the fear factor of sparring ... Teaches you to respect your opponent ... Plus, in the Kumite, there are no gloves!
