By now, you may or may not have heard that all the fighters at UFC 76 passed their initial drug tests except for one: Kazuhiro Nakamura.
Nakamura tested positive for marijuana after his loss to Ryoto Machida by unanimous decision. Nakamura smokes weed? Really? I never would have guessed by his ring entrances from PrideFC or the nice pink umbrella he used on his way to the UFC’s octagon.
What I find troubling is the fact that Nakamura was only fined $500 and was suspended for 90 days. You may remember back in February when Nick Diaz tested positive for marijuana after a PrideFC event in Las Vegas the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) fined Diaz 20% of his fight purse and suspended him for 6 months.
Granted we are talking about the California State Athletic Commission (CSAC) and not the NSAC, but shouldn’t there be some consistency among the punishments? At least the punishments should be a little closer in the level of severity.
Also, do note that the test for steroids and other performance enhancing drugs haven’t been returned yet. Only test results for “street” drugs were returned.

This wouldn’t happen if weed was legal. Legalize it!!!
if someone wants to be completely unmotivated to do anything except eat junk food and watch Half Baked, I say let them.
Its not like smoking some herb will help you win a fight…
Legalize It, Tax It and use the money to fix up americian schools!
I think the idea is that marijuana probably is used as a cover up agent which overpowers some kind of steroid so it wont show up on the test. I cant see any other reason why they would smoke weed at a time when it would come up on their test. I guess another reason would be enormous stupidity.. your a pro athlete, act like it.
Since im NOT a pro athlete, im with Gatties all the way LEGALIZE IT!!! hahaa
im new to this site far as posting but i got a few Qs not sure where to post them

Jeremy Horn just fought Sept.1st at the Art Of War 3 were he faced Jorge Santiago, he lost via triangle choke 3 mins. into the first round. yes i know that does suck.
if your looking at the UFC website they almost always put the whole card up very late. if you look around a bit on the net you should be able to get a good idea of who is fighting. mmaplayground.com have fight cards for the next two UFC events and a few fights for third one.
awww man $500 thats enough to buy like 3Oz of weed and hes also got 90 days to sit and think about all the crazy hay hes missing out on, bummer. LOL
