This headgear won't twist and stays in place while grappling
From stand up to ground and pound, elbows and submissions, train like it's a fight but with the safety of wearing headgear.$19
We've recently posted our review on TrialByFireMMA.com. I put the ArmorFit headgear hrough hours of training both on my feet and grappling on the ground, and I never once had to adjust it for any reason. The padding isn't as absorbent as d3o, but that's not the purpose. This is fantastic competition and MMA headgear meant to prevent cuts and cauliflower ear in stand-up and when grappling. It does exactly what it claims, and for that reason I scored it at an extremely high 9.5. are you ever going to review the D30 headgear?
Sizing info: Size Circumference (IN) Circumference (CM) Hat Size Teen 18 1/2" - 19 1/2" 49.5 - 53 6 5/8 Medium 20" - 21" 54 - 56 6 3/4 - 7 Large 21 1/2" - 22 1/2" 57 - 59 7 1/8 - 7 3/8 X-Large 23" - 24" 60 - 62 7 1/2 - 7 5/8
Armorfit doesn't have an exact chart worked out at the moment, they just include the following info: "Medium size is for people about 120lbs Large size is for people about 145-155 lbs XL is for people about 160-180lbs XXL for big guys about 200lbs - 220lbs" Obviously not all guys in those weights have the same cranium dimensions. Light Heavyweight Tito Ortiz's head is bigger than Super Heavyweight Hong Man Choi's whole upper body. My dome is 23" circumference and the Large was a bit snug, but would work if you like a tighter fit. The XL felt great for me. Hopefully that helps a bit. Generally, these run a little tight. If you're torn between sizes, go up one.
they don't even have a sizing chart on their own website. how the heck are you supposed to judge between the 5 different sizes?
Sizing is definitely tough since ArmorFit is yet to determine a sizing chart. Hopefully this helps some: I'm 6'2" 175 lbs and my dome is 23" circumference. The Large was a bit snug, but would work if you like a tighter fit. The XL felt great for me.
is this any good? the lack of design and no interior were a turn off or meh, i've waiting 2 months for a headgear and this is the only one you guys offer...any badboy, R2C, hayabusa on their way?
Depends on what you're looking for. This isn't your typical headgear. In our review we talk about how aesthetically it falls short, but if you're training and want headgear when a fight goes from striking to ground game, then this is it. Here's our review below: http://trialbyfiremma.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=222:armorfit-mmamuay-thai-amatuer-competition-headgear&catid=62:headgear&Itemid=496
Hayabusa head gear is horrible. Avoid it.
To be honest the Hayabusa headgear is poor. I haven't written on it yet, but I'd rate it relatively low. It moves SO MUCH and sags down the forehead like crazy, even when tied and strapped properly.
^^ Agreed, this doesn't have anything too fancy aesthetically... but functionally it offers thorough protection without feeling like you're wearing a football helmet. Also slays the competition in terms of your peripheral vision.
One of my guys that fights under me has the head gear went into a Mauy Thai Competition and couldn't see anything for the whole 2 rounds because it kept falling down especially in the clinch. Constantly had to adjust through the fight. Dont recommend it to anyone oh and the dye leaks on your head when your wearing it so your face looks like you put war paint on by the time you are done with it.
Nufofthis - which headgear?
sizing chart?
