Hand made in Thailand.$55
Could the 14 oz. gloves be used for sparring by someone who is 200 pounds or should I really buy 16 oz. gloves.
Depends on your gym. They might let you use them.
i would say use 16oz. i'm about ur weight (190lbs) and i've always used 16oz. I think the rule of thumb is something like if your under 150lbs u can use 14oz.
Yea if ur not under 150 or 145lbs you should be using 16oz unless your going to do light sparring
I use some gym sparring glove 14oz for everything. it is just what they sold in the gym. use it to spar hit the bag etc... I may get another 14 or `6 oz glove soon
you spar in 16 oz only if you use any other weight ur just being a dick.
I tried to order the gloves and the website kept kicking me out. Any chance I can still order the 16 oz. gloves. If not, will there be any high quality gloves coming on again soon?
The only not sold out option is 14oz.
Aaron's Post: 6/17/2011 (4 hours ago) at 9:52 AM BJJHQ will have BJJ specific gear including rash guards, shorts, t-shirts and kimonos. On MMAHQ there will be rash guards, shorts, gloves, pads, training and protective gear and fan apparel. Note that he said, "fan apparel"! That means we might be seeing some lime green MP tees on here, fellas!!!! WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! Can I get a HELL YEAH?!
HELL YEAH!!
He'll yeah
ew
Dude your gay
haaha im not the only person that wants MP shirts
How do these compare to Everlast Hook & Loop Heavy Bag Gloves (Only $26.99!)? Are these worth twice the price?
haha. Everlast is neverlast and will break down or the stitchng will suck. I hate everlast. I like fairtex and handmade gear like cletos. These should last unlike neverlast
Now, Everlast's more expensive gloves are decent enough ... But it's like everything else, you get what you pay for. While there's plenty of overpriced gear out there, these are legit. Golden Gear is used by many Muay Thai fight leagues throughout the US, including the WKA.
These are worth 5 times what the $26.99 Everlast gloves are.
definitely spend the extra money on these. i can't tell you how many people i have heard complaining around my gym, that they bought Everlast and it's wearing out already.
"same as a more famous brand" ... Fairtex is my guess. These look sick!
BINGO!
any comfortable trousers in the near future?
Aaron or someone could you tell say the regular price of these gloves.
there on golden gear for 98. plus shipping. Some of the other gear is cheaper though I think their prices are increasing though
They have been cheaper in the past on golden gear website, but are currently $98 as above poster. Made by Fairtex. have sold for $50 in past but still a decent deal.
better then reevos
Oh yea, you've owned both? Lol personal opinion I guess, I hate hook and loop... Reevo Hayabussa for wrist suport
tried both. never understood everyones boner for reevo. these are very similar company to fairtex. looking for wrist support check out BOON
I've used boons there good I'll stick to my reevees, best I've had
to each his own
I have some Twins and BOONS, and I prefer the BOONS. And they are great for wrist support.
Rival has the best wrist support with that double angled strap. Bet pair of gloves I've ever used
cant argue that boon fairtex twins aren't good gloves but you cant count out the newer smaller companies
that`s true dude, but what u can count on is the quality of handmade equipment. especially from companies that have been around for such a long time like the ones you mentioned (boon, fairtex, twins, etc.) I would opt for purchasing a well known brand that i know will last, rather than take a chance on something newer that could be a waste of money. Leave that to fighters who are sponsored and get gear for free, i`m not there yet!
^^^^the man speaks the truth
...again not arguing that there all quality gloves, but for argument on petes there are lots of complaints about twins with inconsistencies of quality so handmade can be a gamble just check the reviews there all quality but theres plus and negatives to all brands but the thing that sells me on Reevo and Hayabusa is the double wrist strap and no other top name brands offer that style but again im not talking down about other gloves...i just want to buy a pair off here at a discounted price - if any of you are going to bitch back about handmade gloves do your research before you respond....you can even start with a list of complaints on sherdog
Aaron I see there is now a BJJ HQ how does that affect the listing on here? Will there only be rashguards etc. on BJJ Hq only? Also will there be a kickboxing HQ?
BJJHQ will have BJJ specific gear including rash guards, shorts, t-shirts and kimonos. On MMAHQ there will be rash guards, shorts, gloves, pads, training and protective gear and fan apparel.
O ok COOL one more thing will they're be a Kickboxing HQ with Shorts, gloves, pads, etc. Geared towards just that. Or your just sticking with the MMA/BJJ HQ? Thanks for the info Aaron
I don't think so.
These are the same exact manufacturer and spec as FAIRTEX. I've seen these before and the lining inside even has the Fairtex logo in some of the Golden gloves. Too bad I have a bunch of Fairtex stuff already.
I was select the item by error which I just want to buy 14oz gloves. Can you guys please help me to change my order to be 14oz. Thank you so much.
Email or call them directly genius...
Email cs@mmahq.com and we'll take care of it for you.

Yo Aaron, you get a hold of some of their training shin pads (the ones with the hook and loop) and I'll buy a pair
Don't 5head sell for 54.99 on their website? I guess u would save on the shipping.
U mean they? Yeah about a week ago. Wouldn't be surprised if they go back down next week. j
lets get winnings for a deal of the day on here haha
^ I WISH I'd buy like 3 pairs seriously!!! But i'm assuming that will NEVE happen on here right Aaron?
I wear a size large gloves. What size should I order? Thanks
16oz prob
Ok good, I went ahead and ordered the 16 oz. My knuckle measurement is 8.5 btw. Thanks again.
is that you alex ... lol
Why don't you get some kung-fu gear up on this site?? All of you fools thinking muay thai is gonna win you fights. Just wait till I get into the UFC, I'll show you how to properly fight UFC.
i like watching muay thai vs kung fu fights. muay thai kicks ass
muay thai always wins
thats because kung fu is for self deffense and muay thai is for breaking bones hahah
Good reviews on Sherdog for the brand.
Fuck yeah. Fairtex! Normally sell for 98 off their website. Bought a pair of 16oz
First.
Hahahahahaha.. well played
golden bear eh, does fedor use these?...he tranes with bears im pretty sure
I believe you're referring to Zangief lol
Does anyone know the quality of these gloves compared to twins or windy?
they are fairtex with a cheaper price. I got there shin pads after reading a review on sherdog
These gloves are great. They are rebranded fairtex. Even says fairtex on the liner.
how do you like those shin guards?
amazing. I had title shins before, and top contendor and my shins were always bruising. Now never go home with a bruise. They are built like tanks. I got the ones that they have on their blog with Ryan Bader.
how do u like the gloves lol
these gloves are as good as twins or windy, well made.
What is the other brand they are referencing? Good for clinch work?
These are allegedly Fairtex BGV5s with a Golden Gear label and a cheaper price.
lame
First?
First!
I didn't know fail could come in so many forms...thanks MMAHQ
