I don't have this but I do have expand a lung. I use it before and after my workout... It definitely increases lung efficiency strengthens ur diaphragm and expands ur aveoli. I don't think these devices cause ur body to increase hemoglobin production which in turn helps you recover from injuries but I will say I have more gas in my take during my workout due to my lungs being stronger and more efficient. I strongly urge all of you looking to increase ur cardio to pick something like this up; however, I am not sure if it is safe to do during a workout... Best of luck....

This is garbage and just a gimmick. It doesn't simulate high altitude training, nor does it help your body better use white blood cells, or whatever bullshit is posted on their website.

    Basically it just suffocates you.

This item is very dangerous as well. I wouldn't be surprised if some serious injury or lawsuit happens regarding this product.

Its red blood cells. And as you go up in altitude, you begin to suffocate due to the lack of oxygen...duh.

Fact is, the concept behind it is so incredibly simple, people like yourself don't believe it.

Guys at my gym use it and the only con is you look like a creep. lol. But i digress, this item is legit and if you pay attention, the guy who said they were garbage obviously couldn't hang. Probably gets flustered in a sauna too.

I'm currently using one of these and it works, if you use it consistently. I wouldn't say they mimic "high altitude" training, but more like resistance training for your lungs. Which in turn helps your lungs pull air in "easier" It also helps make you more conscious about your breathing so that you're controlling it better (I.E taking deep breaths each time).

This is a pretty good price, I paid $112 for mine.

I gotta share my 2 cents on this one. I am a B.Sc. and CSCS certified strength and conditioning coach and I must warn you that there is no scientific evidence (emphasis on scientific) substantiating the claims that Training Mask (mimicking hypoxic training) are making. In fact it may even decrease your overall fitness level because of the fact that restricting your breathing means your are actually breathing less, therefore you must reduce the intensity of your training. Anyways this forum is no place for a debate or whatever, just a word of caution that this won't get you in better shape or make you spar more rounds in the long run! So have realistic expectations when buying guys!
Keep up the good work MMA HQ.

You pretend that a single case (that means one subject) unpublished study is evidence enough to support the claims that they are making. The methodology in the study is flawed and the benefits observed probably come from the actual training sessions (duh!) and not the breathing apparatus. Seriously dude if you are going to pretend to have evidence get a serious scientific article from a credible source, not something from a magazine or some website!

If you actually read the whole article the author concludes: "application to improve endurance performance in other athletes is not an assumed conclusion".

Nice! I have tried my buddies and you can definitely feel the difference once it's off. It's already been said, but use caution until you get used to it...

You feel a difference because your were borderline suffocating before and when you took it off, you were able to breathe alot more oxygen than before. You would get the same effect putting a plastic bag over your head for 20 minutes with a few tiny holes cut in it, then removing it completely.
